99 percent of the time the book is better than the movie but every once in awhile the opposite is true. An example I can think of would be Fight Club. Usually when I like a movie based on a book, I'll go and read the book as well. In this case I found the movie to blow the book out of the water. The book actually wasn't that good to me and I sometimes wondered how they got such an amazing movie out of it. The movie changed a lot of things that were definately for the better, especially the ending. The ending in the book really sucked and was kind of cheesey. Any one else got any examples?

The Shining. The movie ending is much more ... chilling.

The Da Vinci Code. The movie and book both sucked majorly, but at least I didn't have turn pages during the movie.

The Shining as a book was far better than either film. Very creepy and intense.

I havn't read the book, but from how amazing the movie was I would have to say that Silence Of The Lambs was a better movie than book. I h ave the book, I hope somone has read it and can tell me if I should read it, if its anywhere near as good as the movie.

I thought both book and movie were amazing, but I'd have to say I enjoyed watching Eragon a bit better than reading it. The book had one hell of a story, but I felt the movie pulled me in a little more.
