For some reason my regular start-up page was suddenly replaced with this.
I reiterate my question in topic.

That is the worst pop up ad I've ever seen. It's pretty scary until you read it and realize it's just an ad.

I had the same thing happen to me, only it was on my desktop, it became my new wall paper and I couldn't get rid of it. I restored my computer to an early date by about a week and the problem was solved, you could try that, that might work.

You also might try BullGuard, Ad-Aware, or SpyBot.
Well I never really fear any Spyware unless the Spyware will not appear in
Enditall or Prcview.
What do you mean by startup page? The page that is displayed in the sdesktop background?
What I do is Quckly press Ctrl+Alt+Del then check if anything is loading. I have to qucikly end it in the Panel then delete the firestarter files.
I sometimes if I really need it or when I am intrested in it NOADWARE V3. I would upgrade the Definitions then execute it.
Sometimes there is loader Viruses that loads programs then when you delete them the master loader loads up another program. They can even download other virus programs at the same time.
My advice is the best defense is no defense. If you use a Virus blocker/Firewall/No go program then your computer is like a big target for people launching viruses.
I use Netlimiter so I can see exactly what is using my web connection. I even see the explorer from time to time transfering a MB or 6 before I cap it and stop the process. Imagine when you sleep or at work and somebody is browsing your Network.
I feel sorry fro XP users since the buzz is all windows and when Windows Vista comes out KABOOM a whole new era of Viruses.
