Everything loads pretty quick for me, but I am running a stripped down no java no cookies no flash / images browser session, so maybe that explains it.

Yeah, is it normal to take 45 seconds to load a page?

PHP-related stuff (forums, banner, wiki, Haddox) are loading slow. I'm working on it. Dreamhost is aware of the problem and is working with me to try and fix. We have been unsuccessful this far. I wish GPF was still around.

Not quite. The forum clock's a few minutes slow. I actually posted this four minutes after the timestamp says.

The entire website still been slow for me, including forums. It takes forever to load pages and make posts. It's ok, I'm sure this will get fixed soon.

Maybe the forums just need a complete overhaul, new PHP database and everything.
To further affirm it's a PHP issue, http://www.sydlexia.com/testforums/
They load like total shit too.

So, the specific problem has been identified.
All subdomains on the site were running PHP 5.2.x or older. Try going to testforums, sitenews, history, haddox... they're all much faster now as they've been upgraded to 5.3
Here's the problem though. The main site currently runs PHP 4.4, which is ancient. I guess when I was moved to a new server, that new server no longer had proper PHP 4.4 support. But guess what? The current forum software is also ancient and isn't supported past PHP 4.4. So unfortunately, the forums probably won't be getting faster anytime soon. I need to install the latest version of phpBB to the testforums, reformat it so it looks almost exactly like the current forums, and then upgrade these forums, and then upgrade to PHP 5.3. Since I have very little idea what I'm doing, and I no longer have a certified computer genius to aid me, I have no idea what the timeframe for this process might be.

UPDATE: I went ahead and updated to PHP 5.3. I did some research and found conflicting reports about whether or not 5.3 would crash PHP 2. I decided to play roulette and it seems to have worked.

Good to have the speed back. Clock's still four minutes slow, though.

Thanks, Syd. Nicely done.
In the meantime, I suppose I'll be pouring one out for homie Sir Fontaine.

Syd, I've played around with PHPbb forums when I was testing out a site of my own. If you want I can help from time to time.

Fixed for me, too; no broken links (to extant pages), and everything is faster.
