I've been on a few SH forums and those nerds loved it. I know I hated it partially because of my love of the games and my career as a screenwriter. Most of the film's problems are from Avary's script which isn't scary, nor creative. He changes the mythology of the games into a second rate Carrie.
The film looks beautiful though. The DP was on his game there. I just wish there was some substance.

Ooooooooooooooh, the suffering...
I just hate that it's another movie that's going to be used to cite why video games shouldn't be movies. I really disagree with that bias.
I'm sure "Bad Dudes" will turn it all around though.

I'm waiting on a cohort of mine to translate my original email into Japanese, so I can try them again. If I still get nothing, it's on to other methods.
In the meanwhile, shooting Press Start is taking up all my time. On that front, though, I'll have some stuff worth seeing soon, for anyone interested.

As a fan of Shinji Mikami games I wouldn't know the first thing about Silent Hill but compared to the Resident Evil movies people who wanted a good conversion of any horror/action game enjoyed the movie.
I just don't see what is so scary about Silent Hill besides the setting. You have animals that are turned inside out with giant heads and mistakes of frankenstein roaming about while there is snow convering the feild.

If you really want to complain then go to Highervoltage they have super self proclaimed self hating nerds there. I go back there every now agian when my IP resets or when I just restart my computer. Some sections are closed off but the let you in if you talk there lang.
