We are three episodes in now. Why hasn't this topic been created yet?

It's really good so far, though I haven't seen the third episode yet. I'm scared for both Stark girls, and for some reason I don't trust Tyrion's whore girlfriend anymore, as well as Joffrie's new homegirl. They all seem treacherous.

As a fan of both the show and the books (which I've read all of), I gotta say that this new season is shaping up very, very nicely. They've put some extra time into the development of Margaery. I can only hope the Dornish get the same treatment once they enter the fold.

Tonight's episode was so good. I was waiting for the final scenes at Craster's and Astapor and they did not disappoint.

With the changes from the book, I'm finding that less is more for the show. They removed one minor character, which led to Melisandre having to go kidnap Gendry. Her interactions with Thoros and Arya and Gendry are very interesting plotlines that we don't get to see in the book.

Am I the only person that believes that this series is garbage?
Yes, I like the Imp but I don't understand why it should take decades for George RR Martin to finish this series. At this point it is nothing more than a soap opera filled with violence and porn and extremely convoluted politics, just for the sake of shock value. Is this somehow supposed to be smart or progressive in the genre as many have claimed?
in the same way Erikson made a sad book series out of a D&D campaign he DM'd (the Malazan Chronicles has often been compared to SOIAF and both considered the opposition to Tolkien's stuff). I wouldn't doubt that he might be a good DM but he has nothing in comparison to Tolkien's ingenuity, and neither does Martin because you sort of need a plot and know what direction you are going in...
Cheap and shallow writing, not very much different from a shitty soap opera.
By definition maybe this guy will write a "good" book one day:
