So, I've seen quite a few H.P Lovecraft inspired or adapted movies and started to wonder if I'm missing any good ones.

So far I've seen:

Dagon
From Beyond
Re-Animator
The Haunted Palace (liked it more than I thought I would)
In the Mouth of Madness (saw it for the first time a few days ago Smile )

Any good Lovecraftian-type movies that I'm missing out on?

Don't know, I've only seen Re-Animator and Dagon and I enjoyed them both.

I thought you were being facetious at first, but then I remembered that it is an unholy abomination that will induce insanity upon viewing. Smile

The Call of Cthulhu silent movie is pretty decent. Do not, under any circumstances, get the DVD that's supposed to be a story about Lovecraft and has the animation sequences in it. It's so boring. Boring enough that I can't describe what it looks like because it's so mind-shatteringly horrible (also, I forget). My wife and I own Dagon, and usually watch it like once a week.

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

I saw Beyond Re-Animator on IFC the other day. It was, to the first movie, what Gremlins 2 was to Gremlins. Pretty much the same story in a different locale; and wackier. Razz It might* be the only movie where a rat fights against an animate severed penis. Laughing

*(I'm sure Japan has a dozen such movies)

I think I will be seeing this movie now. Thank you for summing it up so well as to get me interested.
