So on Thursday I was watching the Saints/Packers game at a sports book, and I decided to check out the casino's line on total season wins for every team, and their odds to win the Super Bowl.
And I made some bets.
Much like my Super Bowl bets, I'm going to document them here so you guys can watch my progress and either cheer for me, or root against me. I'll also probably bet on a game or two every week, and I'll put that in here and keep track of how I'm doing.
Instead of giving exact dollar amounts, I'll just use the term "units" which represents a specific dollar amount that only I'm aware of. Basically I don't want you guys knowing exactly how much of a degenerate I am. Decimals will be involved because when making a line or over/under bet, I have to bet 10% over what I'm looking to win.
If you guys don't understand what some of the bets mean or you aren't sure of any terms, feel free to ask and I'll clarify.
Season-Long Bets
Colts O/U 9.5 Wins - UNDER (110 units) -- WIN
Texans O/U 8 Wins - OVER (55 units) -- WIN
Cardinals O/U 6.5 Wins - OVER (55 units) -- WIN
Giants O/U 9 Wins - UNDER (44 units) -- PUSH
Lions O/U 7 Wins - OVER (33 units) -- WIN
Panthers O/U 4.5 Wins - UNDER (33 units) -- LOSS
49ers O/U 8 Wins - UNDER (33 units) -- LOSS
-Odds to win Super Bowl-
Packers 5:1 (10 units)
-Odds to win AFC Championship-
Patriots 5:2 (10 units)
-Odds to win NFC Championship-
Packers 3:1 (10 units)
Saints 5:1 (10 units)
Week 1
Cards (-6.5) over Panthers - 11 units (WIN)
Raiders (+3.5) over Broncos - 5.5 units (WIN)
Week 3
Pats (-7) over Bills - 33 units (LOSS)
Week 10
Chiefs (-2.5) over Broncos - 66 units (LOSS)
Cards (+16) over Eagles - 33 units (WIN)
Bills (+5.5) over Cowboys - 33 units (LOSS)
Browns (-1.5) over Rams - 33 units (LOSS)
Week 16
Lions (-1.5) over Chargers - 33 units (WIN)
Wildcard Round
Bengals to win over Texans - 5 units; getting 2:1 odds (LOSS)
Giants (-3) over Falcons - 11 units
Steelers (-7.5) over Broncos - 11 units
Current amount won/lost (as of Jan 8): +102 units

Just posting to say I will be watching this, even though I don't have a lot to say about it. Good luck.

Cool. Yeah, I'll be updating it weekly.
The Colts Under 9.5 wins is going to be awesome. I could probably tank every other bet and win that and still finish ahead.

Anything on the odds of a Raiders kicker tying the longest field goal record?

Probably isn't a prop on that with a casino, but I bet you could find that somewhere online.

Forgot to update this last week. I didn't make it to the sportsbook this week so no Week 2 bets, but I did win both of my Week 1 wagers. So currently I am up 15 units. Yay. I'll place some bets for Week 3, probably.

Just got back from the sports book. I put 33 units on New England (-7) over Buffalo. It's a lot of units because I'm very confident. Buffalo is 2-0 and gaining some confidence, so Belichick will be sure to put them back in line. I wouldn't be surprised if New England wins by 20.

Aaaaaand Pats blow a 21-0 lead and lose the game. 4 INTs by Brady today--as much as ALL of last season. I guess Buffalo is for real.
Current net win/loss: -18 units.

Yeah, the patented Swiss cheese defense for the Patriots didn't work.
And what the fuck was with that time out there?

Whoa, haven't updated this in a while. I've been laying low on the gambling this year since I can't get much of a read on most of the teams. However, I was out tonight and temptation got ahold of me.
It also helped that the biggest bet I made all year was that the Colts would win fewer than 9 games...and they've already clinched a losing record on the season. YES! 100 units coming my way. I could take it easy the rest of the way and guarantee I turn a profit on the season, but that's no fun.
On to this week's wagers!
I'm putting a whopping 66 units on KC (-2.5) over Denver. I can't believe KC is giving less than a field goal at home to Tim fucking Tebow.
I went ahead and threw 33 on Arizona getting 16 points against the Eagles. Whenever I see a losing team picked by two touchdowns I feel like I have to take the dog.
I put 33 on Buffalo getting 5.5 points against the Cowboys. Talk about getting no respect.
I put 33 on the Browns giving a mere 1.5 points at home to the Rams.

Should of put 1000 units on Pittsburgh, and another 1000 units on the Texans. That's what I did. Not sure our unit of measurements are the same though.

Okay, so we use different unit measurements. Cool.
To be helpful here are some more conversions.
160 units = 1 £
136 units = 1 €
100 units = 77 ¥
57 units = R$ 1 (that one's for Sehkmaenzo)

Chiefs (-2.5) over Broncos - 66 units - LOSS - Denver ran the ball 55 times and attempted only 8 passes. Tebow completed 2 of 8 passes...and they still win. Embarrassing.
Cards (+16) over Eagles - 33 units - WIN.
Bills (+5.5) over Cowboys - 33 units - LOSS - Cowboys are so inconsistent it's annoying.
Browns (-1.5) over Rams - 33 units - LOSS - So close.
Net loss for the week - 69 units.
Net gain for the season - 13 units.

Was that for one game? Which game?
Also, Leinart era is about to begin in Houston! You must be excited.

That was the Jet's New England game. Going into the 4th I needed one punt. Nick Folk missed a chip shot at the very beginning and Sanchez threw a pick 6. Nothing could go right in that game.
I'm actually not to down on having Leinart. He has all the weapons and the line to be the QB he was supposed to be back in 2006.
Edit: Fuck you Matt Flynn, you costed me my Parlay.

Just got back from a holiday trip to the sports book. I put 33 units on Detroit at -1.5. If I hit that, I may bet on tomorrow night's game.
Going to update the season long bets right now.
EDIT: Here's how my season-long bets are going.
Colts O/U 9.5 Wins - UNDER (110 units) -- WIN
Texans O/U 8 Wins - OVER (55 units) -- WIN
Cardinals O/U 6.5 Wins - OVER (55 units) -- WIN
Giants O/U 9 Wins - UNDER (44 units) -- ???
Lions O/U 7 Wins - OVER (33 units) -- WIN
Panthers O/U 4.5 Wins - UNDER (33 units) -- LOSS
49ers O/U 8 Wins - UNDER (33 units) -- LOSS
So I'm 4-2 so far in my Total Wins O/U bets, but I won the big ones so I'm way up. The worst I can do on the last one is a push if the Giants win next week. If they lose, I'm up another 40 units.
Right now I'm up 77 units on the year.
EDIT #2: Won the Lions bet. I'm up 107 units on the year. Yeah, boi.

Posting from halftime of the Bengals/Texans game. I put 5 units on the Bengals to win. They're +200 so I would win 10 units of profit.
They started well but are now trailing by 7. Come on, you bastards!
EDIT: Lost that one, so I'm sitting at +102 units over the season.
Put 11 units on Giants (-3) and 11 on the Steelers (-7.5). A lot of people betting Denver locally and moved that line a lot. It opened at -11.
