It's too late to be an April Fools joke, so fans of Metal Gear Solid who have always wanted to dress the part can rejoice. The very first "complete" men's clothing line based on MGS Peace Walker is being launched this month in both the United States and Canada.
"Our partnership will give fans the opportunity to 'suit up' for one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, specifically for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker," said Konami's Careen Yapp. "The mass success and support for our latest Metal Gear Solid hit has allowed us to expand beyond what we've done in the past with the series, and we are very much looking forward to offering this new line to a global community of fans."
The first wave of clothing, created in partnership with Musterbrand, will be made available online in the U.S. and Canada on April 11. There will be t-shirts, pants, jackets, hats, and more. More clothing will be released quarterly throughout the year, as well as during "certain special events" that weren't specified.
It's a bit curious that Konami wouldn't have released this around the time Peace Walker came out last June, but that detail won't matter much to the MGS faithful.
