i was gonna focus this thread on the 3BA (new experimental league started up in the western part of the USA... slam article + website) which i recently read about and actually sounds pretty exciting, but i decided to leave it open to anything basketball related.

im a Laker fan. born in the 80's + living in LA during that era naturally makes you a laker fan, but i still respect the teams that have a great history to them (i.e. the celtics, pistons, hawks et. al.)

for college ball, moving to tucson during the 90's and watching them win the championship in '97 makes you a wildcat fan, especially since ASU didnt have a decent squad until just recent years.

im hating on brandon jennings because he commited to the UofA but then decided to forgo that and is playing for italy because Lute Olson retired.

any other ball fans here?

I really like playing, but can't stand watching it unless I'm actually at the game. Even then, the NBA is weak, IMO. I just feel like the NBA has championed individual flair too much.

Going to college basketball games is fun though... they play passtionately, and they don't travel every 15 seconds.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Huge basketball fan. Naturally, I'm a huuuuge Pistons fan (and one happy with the addition of Iverson.) My favorite college team is North Carolina and always has been.

I play a lot in the summer time with friends, and I've been on the make-your-own-team Boys and Girls Club squads a couple different times.

I almost feel ashamed of the Knicks in this time. Dumb decisions, weak players, the whole fucking nine. Compared to the NBA, I only follow college ball casually.

Last time I played was in my old high school's team, which means not since the spring or so =/

Been a Bulls fan (and a basketball fan) since the '95-'96 season, which ironically was 6th grade when I got grounded big time. Had to turn to something.

Anyways, even though the Bulls haven't done much lately, I'll still be a fan of theirs, no matter how bad they are, including the Tim Floyd era of error.

College basketball is much more fun, considering that everyone wants to play to win. There's a lot of teams from my area that gets coverage, including Maryland, UVa, Virginia Tech, Xavier, George Washington University, and George Mason.

Have been a fan since before I could walk. My Grandparents were huge Blazer fans and constantly watched basketball, so I grew up idolizing the 80s guys like Clyde Drexler, Larry Bird, and Domonique Wilkins. (Jordan and Magic Johnson were the enemies!) Quit watching in the late 90s during the "Jail Blazer" era. Recently got back into watching over the last few year. Brandon Roy got me to respect the Blazers again.

The fact that it took 3 overtimes isn't something to be proud of when you're facing a very mediocre Suns team.

that Suns always bring their A-game against the Lakers. apparently the Lakers are the Suns rivals, so EVERYONE in phoenix jumps on the 'hate the lakers' bandwagon. i never saw so many Suns fans convert to Celtics fans til last year & 3 years ago. it was ridiculous.

speaking of the Suns, Steve Nash now has a black kid. apparently his wife was fucking Liandro Barbosa and she had his baby, which is why Nash Divorced his wife & Barbosa got traded. apparently this happened @ the beginning of the month, but i just read about it.
Quote:
Remember when Phoenix Sun’s player Steve Nash divorced his wife immediately after she gave birth to their child, and no one could figure out why? Well, word on the street is that Steve’s former teammate Leandro Barbosa IS the father. Sources are saying that Barbosa was traded because Nash caught wind of the affair and he had to go!! SCANDALOUS!!!
