Ha. I remember when you could buy a medium sized bag of bubble gum for a nickel. And see a movie for a dime. But those happy memories die for the same reasons as all the others:

I ended up with Sonic, Knuckles, and Robotnik when all I wanted was Tails because he could fly and he was my favorite.

I have all 6 of those gold Pokemon Cards proudly on display in my dorm room. I did open mine, but luckily my stepbrother didn't and he has long since forgotten they are in the garage.

I had an effin' Togepi gold card. Bleh. My brother got a sweet blue YoMega once. I think we bough it separate from the meal, though.
