A 10.5 horsepower, 4 stroke engine at the cost of $2,500 a piece turns you into a personal snowmobile.

Yeah I can just see that thing getting loose from your hand and mauling you until you're just a bloody corpse into the snow...

The more I think about this... could we attach purposefully defective ones to snow boarders that choose to sit on the back side of knolls in the middle of trails?

I say we just make independent, blood thirsty ones to prowl the slopes. Adds a bit of excitement.

What the hell? Why would you even need a motor?

WTF? So this is a $2500 motor for someone who wants all the fun of cross country skiing without any of the mild physical exertion?

guys, just reading the comments to see what peeps are saying about the Skizee,I am a Machinist on the project so I have had a
few chances to try out a Skizee. We get the "what if it runs me over comment a lot". The friction between the sliders and the track
causes the machine to stop dead when you release the throttle. The rider still has a tendancy to keep the forward motion allowing
seperation between the rider and the machine. When you stop on a Skizee you release the throttle and use the same methods as if you
were sking. We have had hours and hours or testing and not once have we had a Skizee come close to hitting anyone, we did figure this
factor into the design.Due to my sloppy ass sking abilities I have probly fallen more then most of our riders, and not once have I
been close to getting hit. I caught an edge going wide open face planted no problems. We will try and get some vids up showing ppl
falling when we get time. If you have seen us on teh discovery channel you will see Tim face planting at top speed. He tried to go
up a almost 90 degree 3 foot embankment that is a retaining wall in my driveway made from large boulders, and he went the wrong way
up them and failed. the links are to the new hill climbing tests we did and The Discovery channel.

I have been alpine skiing for 26 years (several competitively) and we have received a record breaking amount of snow.

I believe I would be a great beta tester... if you promise it won't run me over.

So it really is safe and can't run people over? Way to take all the fun out of it.

I think you're missing a key demographic here though; slap a guidance system and a machine gun on those things and Cobra would buy caseloads to defend their snow bound bases!

Actually, that would be a good idea for light transport through snowy areas where a car could potentially get stuck.
