Spanish Duplos?

When I was a kid, I had regular Duplos, and then I had some Mexican/Spanish equivalent.

They were the same size and Duplos, but the tops and bottoms were different, so they couldn't interconnect. The other big difference was that their people pieces were a lot cooler. You could turn their collars to change their faces between happy, sad, and angry. Anyone have any idea what these are called? Thought I'd have luck with Wikipedia or Google, but didn't.
