haunted = no good... i didnt like it... and people i know who read it didnt like it either... get rant instead... it has a better narrative style... but like most his other books... kind of just falls flat at the end... but its still funny and cool...

I recently got into Chuck P. a few weeks ago. I read Survivor, then Fight Club, then Haunted. I was going to read Choke next, but my friend doesn't have it, so I might read another one. I must say that I love his writing style so far and I'm eager to read more.

choke is not too bad... like i said... his endings are suffering... a lot... and choke is a great example of this...

i personally think survivor is his best book yet... fight club second... every other one has its niche... but nothing spectacular... lullaby was kind of cool... diary was whatev...

anyhow... just my two cents...

For those Chuck fans, they are making a movie out of Choke. I saw it on Chuck's myspace bulletin.

Here you go for more info:

I could tell he was gay just from watching the movie version of Fight Club. Sorry, but I haven't read the book; I did however, see Anthony Bourdain hang out with him on an ep of No Reservations.

I've only read Fight Club, I enjoyed it but I think the guy is severely overrated for his "scary yucky mans" notoriety.

That's society for you.

I like that, but one of my favorite things about him is that he researches shit deeply when talking about it in a book. The details turn me on my ear and kick me right in the crotch.

just finished reading his new book "Snuff."

not a bad book at all. quite short (only 197 pages) and the writing style is pretty cool. still a little morbid and his dark humor is kind of becoming a staple of everything he writes now, but not a bad read.

heres the amazon link

His endings really do lack. Fight Club is the only time I felt like the movie was actually better than the book. Choke was pretty good, I hope the movie doesn't suck. I tried to read Rant but I really wasn't getting how the story was being told and I started getting really bored with it. Is it one of those things where you have to keep reading and eventually it makes sense?

well, in defense of Rant, he does give you a warning as to how the narrative style is told.

it took me a chapter or two to understand it, but i got it down. and the story was great, except for the ending, again.

I don't like his books very much i just feel he goes too much into being shocking and not enough into having a good full story, when he does do character development and plot it really works so i know he can do it, but then he ruins it by saying cock for the next 8 pages!

I've read everything except for Tell-All, and I have to say that my three favorite are Rant, Lullaby and Haunted, in that order. I love Fight Club too, but the other three are just fucking visceral. My least favorite is Snuff, which I just finished.

I'm reading Pygmy right now, I'm going to try to read Lullaby or Tell All next. He's got another book coming out next year, and I think one of those three will be made into a movie. It's just speculation judging by how well Pygmy has sold and the fact that he's putting out three books in three years.

that was because of his original contract (1 book every year) and i think he resigned something similar lately.
