God damn, that's a lot of pennies! I never understood how people can drop that kind of money on stuff like this, have you ever read old comics? They kind of suck. It would be cool to have as an heirloom if you found it in the attic, but a million bucks?

The oldest comic I ever had was and old issue of Spiderman, can't remember the number but the cover had him hiding from the cops with a webbing backpack on and there was some artifact he stole from a museum in it, I think the Kingpin may have been in the story. and I found it in an antiques store in a box of comics marked 25 cents each. Anyone remember what issue that was?

I would imagine no less than this price for an original copy of the first appearance of a character that shaped comics as a whole to be what they are today.

also, nicolas cage sold it.

Title fixed, cause someone is a fucking retard.

#edit: My mistake. An Action #1 just sold like 3 days ago for a million dollars, so I assumed this was about that. I'm guessing this was a fake transaction because they wanted Batman to have the record for some reason. Far too coincidental for 2 books to sell for a million dollars in the same week when the previous record was only like $500,000.

The headline of the article was 1939 Batman comic sells for more than $1M so I went with that.

It's obvious that whoever came up with the headline for that article is a fucking retard.

Lol, I did the exact same double take when I saw the topic title.
