i thought there was a topic on this but i couldnt locate it.

at any rate, seems trading cards are at the next level now. check it out:

basically, you get the physical cards, enter them online and you get a digital copy. w/that you can start accumulating digital copies and building your digital collection. they also have soccer and whatnot.

pretty nifty if you ask me

YGO's been like that for a while, both on the portable games and I assume YGO Online.

Okay. I get digital copies when its a competitive game (so you can play online), but what good does a collectible online card do? Confused

Unless I'm mistaken, and I very well could be since I've never used it, with Magic Online if you manage to collect an entire foil version of an expansion set, you can notify WotC and they'll mail you a complete physical set.

With Magic Online, if you acquire a complete set of cards from any set from Champions of Kamigawa block to present day (I think it goes back that far, at least) in either all foil or all non-foil, you can redeem them for a factory sealed set of physical cards. Redeem = have the cards removed from the online account and pay $5 for shipping and processing.
