I'm curious, whadda you guys prefer to listen to your music with, earbuds or headphones? I think I prefer earbuds cause they're less intrusive on your head, but I think the headphones give better sound quality. Most of the time, though, i really just use whatever I've got laying around.
Oh and just to clairify:
These are earbuds.

Same here. I use earbuds at work because they are small and I can put them in individually. I need to have one ear open to hear if people call me to the front of the store or anything like that.

Most definitely headphones. I've tried using earbuds before, and they're incredibly painful to wear. My earlobes are too small (despite the large size of my ears) and they stretch the inside of them out, and I usually get an ear infection if I frequently wear them for more than a week.
I don't like speakers because they simply don't immerse me in the music like headphones do (mind you, I've never owned surround sound speakers, otherwise that'd probably be my choice).

Headphones for me. I agree with the previous posters, earbuds hurt my ears.

I agree. I've been using the same pair of Sony Headphones since I was ten. They're damn durable and they produce a nice, clear sound.

Headphones! Ear buds are only acceptable when you're in a situation you're not supposed to be listening to music and you have long hair to cover.

Like I said earlier I'll use headphones at home or anywhere else but I kind of need earbuds when I'm at work so I can have one ear open if people call me to the front of the store and so on. I've tried it with headphones at work and it was dumb because I had to have one on my ear and one behind my other. I looked like a record producer.

When moving around, I use my earbuds. Headphones look stupid in public, and they don't fit in your pocket if you put your mp3 player away.
Stationary, with my laptop or sound system, I go with headphones. Better sound quality and they shut out outside noise.

I love speakers.
Sometimes at work I'll listen to headphones so that my co-workers don't get pissed off. However, I'll usually turn sound off rather than listen to anything other than good speakers.
I feel like I have said that before.

What broke? did the wire rip or did the clip fall off? These things are awesome and I want to keep them alive for as long as I can.

They just stopped working. Maybe the wires came loose inside the earpieces.

I happen to be wearing a pair that looks like these right now. I like them because of the portability they have, but the only bad thing is that the clipy part that goes on your ears repeatedly breaks off, so if I want to wear them, I usually have to walk around with two huge wads of scotch tape on my head to keep them on, which kind of eliminates the portability.

I have a pair of cheep earbuds for the gym, but use bose headphones anywhere else, helps blockout noise on the subway.

I hate earbuds; I used to use them all the time and they didn't work as effectively as I wanted them to. I especially hate the fact that they often leave a lot of space in the ear, allowing a lot of outside noise to creep into your ears while you're trying to play a game or listen to your favorite song. Headphones do that as well, but to a much lesser extent.
Speaking of which, I prefer headphones.

I use skullcandy earbuds whenever I'm listening to music on the go, but whenever I use the computer to watch movies/play Half-Life 2 or some other Valve game, I use a pair of stereo headphones. Granted, it's partly because my speakers are really shitty....

Clip on's work nicely, unless they get to loose. Then it's a bit bothersome. If I am wearing something around my ears, it needs to SHOVE that headphone at my ear, not gently rest it. That way I can hear the music clearly without having it blaring.
Earbuds suck.
And I am the kind of guy who wears headphones in public. Nice looking ones work better. I wear them around even when I am not listening to things. That way, I can appear like I am not listening. This helps when eavesdropping on people who are talking about you and getting out of conversations.
