This may be a little bit out of context considering the kickassedness of this site and the substance on it, but I figured I'd throw it out there to see if anyone has any strong opinions regarding this type of thing...

Anyway, if anyone finds this too controversial to really discuss here, that's cool, but hell... I figure it's worth a shot.

Has anyone seen the outrage in Jordan regarding the bombings in Amman a few days ago? Seems like people in Jordan are pissed off that some jerkoff in Iraq is sending his guys into their country to blow shit up. It may sound strange, but I was actually very pleased to see some Muslim outrage regarding this type of thing. A majority of the Middle Eastern Muslim world has been uncomfortably quiet when this sort of thing has gone down ("Westerners" like Americans, Brits, and to a lesser extent, "Western" Muslim countries like Jordan or Egypt being attacked by fundamentalists), and it was refreshing to me to see people speaking out against Al Queda in Iraq (or any other fundamentalist group for that matter.) The silence from Muslim countries when Westerners are attacked does not make me too sympathetic to their problems.

I hate the fact that it takes something like this to get people mobilized against extremists. I guess I just wish that the "common" Muslim, the people over there just trying to live their lives, would stand up and take back their countries from these fundamentalist assholes. Fuck terrorists.

Okay, I'm done ranting. Any other takers?

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

I haven't heard the news about the bombing until now and I agree. It's about time they stood for themselves and started solving their own problems. It seems that history has often proven that it's best to make changes on your own, otherwise things lean toward dependencies and whatnot. I don't like the fact that America has to stick its god damned "peace-keeping" nose into everything.

To paraphrase Lewis Black; Imagine the world as a workplace. America goes all around the office yelling, "I'm the best motherfucker here! Without me, you guys are nothing!" It would be quite annoying. Wait... I meant "is." Anyway, I'm diverting from the main topic. My basis of such things are more on America's arrogant and intrsuive positioning on world politics.

Back to the main issue, the peoples of an oppressed land have to come about on their own. We can help, as the French did for us in the Revolutionary War, but they didn't do everything, i.e. capture the bad guy, model our government, etc. It is indeed refreshing to see another part of the world stand up for itself, and I mean for themselves, not for bombing the Hell out of "infidels" of a different culture.

RIP Hacker.

Well, they have definitely spoken out- which is a kickass start, but haven't really stood up for themselves yet. Ideally, citizens of Middle East countries will start outting these assholes before they're able to bomb anything. Citizens in Iraq outting the insurgents, citizens in Palestine outting suicide bombers (although that situation has gotten a little better, which is good), etc. etc. The regular people in those territories have major power if they just get mobilized. I'd like to see them start "cleaning house" from the inside.

The whole Middle East situation is just a total mess, but it's good to see it's finally, slowly starting to get better. Even the Palestine/Israel situation is improving, and I never thought I'd see that happen.

i dont find this statement to be true. i dont think its getting better,i think this is the calm before the storm. the Iraqies are tired of the US invasion, the iranians are tired of the US telling them they can't produce large scale weapons, the taliban are slowly regaining strength in Afganistan, and saudi's arent gonna put up with iraqs shit anymore. so much hate and prejiduce, the whole middle east is on the brink of erupting into an orgy of death.

I am a worthless piece of crap.
