I honestly didn't think it would ever come out.
That said, I'm not really a fan of GnR. I'll give them credit, back in the day they had some really great songs, but I was never like a fan, and I own no GnR albums.
However, I will check out some of the songs once this thing finally gets released (read: leaked).

It won't suck, but it'll be hard to live up to 10 years worth of expectations.
I heard some of the new songs live in 2002 and I've heard the leaked demos of some other songs... Assuming the finished versions have a little more studio polish, it'll be a good album.

You're right, as usual.
Cool that Bas is opening - we (that is, friends and I) had been wondering who is - our tickets don't say. Also, the article mentions my city by name for being sold out already! I'm so proud.

On his syndicated radio show this week, Alice Cooper said that Chinese Democracy would be out November 21st, but that Axl's record company was claiming otherwise. I don't know if Alice and Axl are friends, but Alice did appear on the Use Your Illusion track "The Garden" and Axl, Izzy, and Slash did a version of Alice's "Under My Wheels" with him for the Decline of Western Civilization, Part 2 soundtrack. Alice is also the type of guy who's smart enough not to spread unfounded rumors.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here for a minute. Not because I really believe the album will still be out by the end of the year, but because it's plausible that the album will still be out by the end of the year. Axl's record company announced that the album will not be out this year. Think about that for a minute. How often does the label announce when an album will or won't be out? Pretty much never. That privelege is usually left to the artist. What does Universal gain by announcing the album won't be out? Nothing. Not only do they make one of their artists look bad, they also take control of the story away from the band. Now, why would they do this? One explanation, one that I'd desperately like to believe, is that it's an anti-piracy measure. The band's manager already said the album would probably be released without any sort of major press, that one day you'd just walk into the record store and it would be there. But people were still looking for it. And the minute some punkass teenager working the night shift at FYE realized there was a crate of Chinese Democracy CDs in the backroom, that album would be on Soulseek and KaZaA Lite faster than you can scream "You're gonna diiiiiiiieeee!" But if the label announces the album won't be out, people won't be looking for it. Linkin Park spent millions of dollars trying to prevent Meteora from hitting the net, and they still couldn't stop it from happening. Hell not even the fact that every Linkin Park song ever sucks major dick could stop people from pirating it. So it's possible that Guns N' Roses are hoping a surprise release will generate buzz and curb pirating.
It's not the most likely scenario, but it's possible.

Everyone has different opinions, and it takes a great amount of stupidity on a person's part for his or her opinion to be wrong and invalid. For more information, see case No. 345519, otherwise known as RegalSin.

Boy bands? Linkin Park NOT a boy band... lets review boy bands:
- Backstreet Boys
- NSync
- 98 Degrees
- The Moffatts
- Boys 2 Men
- etc. etc. etc.
What do all of these have in common? They are POP bands...
What is Linkin Park? Rapcore/Alternative/Nu Metal
I rest my case!

Just because Linkin Park uses instruments and yells lyrics does not make them any less pop or any less of a boy band. As far as Nu Metal goes, they're total pussies.
