Here's the situation. You are Mega Man. You're about to go into a group of levels you're completely unfamiliar with.
However, you have access to all of your equipment from the first three games.
So, I ask you, what do you take with you, so as to possibly be as prepared as possible?
-You may take any 8 weapons from the first 3 Mega Man games (1, 2, 3). If you get it from a robot master, it's a weapon.
-You may also take any 3 items from the first three games. The items are: Magnet Beam from MM1, Items 1-3 from MM2, and the Rush Jet, Coil, and Marine from MM3.
Your answers may influence a future project I have. And if you have a clue as to just what that "project" may be, please keep your mouth shut about it (go ahead and ask me about it in PMs, but I'm kind of trying to keep a surprise for the easily surprised)

Let's see...
-Metal Man's Metal Blades from MM2, because they're the best weapon of any of the first three MM games.
-Heat Man's Atomic Fire from MM2, because charging is awesome.
-Crash Man's Crash Bombs from MM2...because I might need to blow something up.
-Top Man's Top Spin from MM3, because there is no greater power than the power of dance. Also, it's one of the most underrated weapons of the first three MM games, I suppose because not many people know how to use it properly.
-Ice Man's Ice Slasher from MM1, because I like to get my Sub-Zero on.
-Snake Man's Search Snakes from MM3, because they're a faster version of Bubble Lead, and therefore awesome.
-Flash Man's Time Stopper from MM2, just in case I run into any errant laser beams.
-Wood Man's Leaf Shield from MM2, simply because I'd need a shield weapon.
In regards to items, I'd take the Magnet Beam, the Rush Jet, and the Rush Marine (just in case).

I forgot most of the weapons name, but it should be pretty easy to know what I'm talking about.
- Magnet Man (the only thing that comes to mind is Magnet Beam). I like homing weapons.
- Air Shooter.
- Heat something.
- Elec Beam.
- Black Bombs.
- Search Snakes to get rid of those crawling fuckers.
- Quick Boomerangs. They go through wall and you have a shitload of them.
- Top Spin if it acts like a kick and stuns enemies, or Metal Blade if it's not completely broken. Otherwise, Needle Shot.
For the items, I'd say Rush Jet, but it would make everything else almost completely useless. So I'll say Magnet Beam, Item-2 and Rush Marine.
I also want to be able to let all that go to waste and be able to beat everything with the Mega Buster whenever I want to do so.

First off, very fun and clever thread Usa, now...onto business.
1. Crash Bomb - MM2 (Love em)
2. Metal Blade - MM2 (Cameron stated right)
3. Search Snake - MM3 (Lava stated right)
4. Quick Boomerang - MM2 (I love the speed of them)
5. Super Arm - MM1 (I love being able to pick up shit like the Hulk)
6. Hyper Bomb - MM1 (Whats not to love about a bigass classic bomb)
7. Hard Knuckle - MM3 (Throwing your arm at the enemy is badass)
8. Gemini Laser - MM3 (I am a big fan of that ultra light blue tint Megaman takes with this one)
Yea, I would take the Rush Spring, Jet and Marine (the Marine is always clutch).
Rush Jet is pretty efficient but a little overrated, you can get a lot done with the Rush Spring if you know what you are doing. The jet can be too fucking slow for my impatient ass.

Metal Blade - Multi-directional goodness, and highly economical.
Time Stopper - Always helpful in a pinch.
Quick Boomerang - Also very energy efficient, and passes through walls.
Ice Slasher - In case anything needs to be frozen.
Magnet Missile - For hard to reach enemies.
Search Snake - (See above)
Wood Shield - Great for item collecting if there are respawning enemies like the Birds that drop eggs.
Crash Bomb - I picked this for path clearing over Super Arm and Hard Knuckle because even though it has the highest energy cost, it's faster off the shot than HK, and more useful as a weapon than SA.
For items, Magnet Beam - Does anything Items 1 and 3 and RC can do.
Rush Marine - Never known when you'll hit a water level
I can't decide between Rush Jet and Item-2. RJ has the ability to go in all directions, but I think I2 has better fuel economy.

If you jump constantly, the Rush Jet can last for quite a long time. So it depends on whether what you want to cross is in the open or not.

You guys realize the Rush Marine from MM3 is completely worthless, right? The Jet can do everything it can, and more, at less energy cost.

Ok, what else would you take in its place, after Rush Spring and Rush Jet, everything else is kinda unnecessary.
Besides the Marine looks badass and I am always stoked when I find myself in a situation that can use it.

All I need is the Metal Blade, and an MP3 of Wily Stage 1 from MM2 and I'm ready to bring the apocolypse.

The Metal Blade is very useful, I also find myself partial to Fire Man's special weapon and the magnet beam. Give me the Rush jet/marine or perhaps item 3 and I'd be golden.

Rush Spring is superior to Item 1 in every way.

Nope. Rush Spring could not, for example, get you past that area in Wily's Castle.

If it's the area I'm thinking of, with the bees coming up and the spiked floor, then yes, it can.

It's not. I should clarify I'm talking about Megaman 2
