I need help with a 10th challenge. I could post one no problem but the thing is I actually would like to give you the forum members some say in what is played.

Post a potential challenge in this thread. List what you must do and how you must do it. You can include Game Genie codes, like the SMB 3 challenge, a save state, multiple save states, etc. The challnge must fit to 10 minutes, technically 10:59 for Youtube. You can use any game includes those not in america, (I ask that it be translated though) and it can not be a game already visited in the previous Challene from 2008.

The most creative/fun challenge will be chosen and any other could be used during the course of this contest if I feel they are good enough or they may be used at a later date.

You can do highest score in 10 minutes, furthest along in 10 minutes, basically anything you can think of (that's possible).

Get creative!!! Make Not Sure blow a fuse. Oh and ANYONE can submit a challenge participant or not.

I know this has been in the Chat and all, but my current ideas are:

River City Ransom: Randy and Andy low/no powerups, fastest time to Thor(still working out that one)

Ninja Gaiden: Stage 5 Time Trial. Stage 6 Time Trial

Star Tropics: Anything you want.

I'm not bashing your idea, and I would love to to incorporate an RPG into this thing, but I want to stay away from grind fest. Usa had a similar idea with Dragon Warrior. Definitely appreciate the ideas though.

Top Gun:

Using save states to revert back to the beginning of the sequence, land the plane on the aircraft carrier as many times as possible.

EDIT: Having second thoughts about this one. As epically difficult as it seemed 20 years ago on the NES, I have to think that with the benefit of save states, you could probably get it down to a science with enough practice. And given that the task has somewhat of a built-in timeframe, most people would probably achieve the same scores.

Would Zelda II be a grind fest though, if set against a time limit? With no time limit, sure. You could just stand in a dungeon and hit those skull things for hours. But with only 10:00, I think the winner would be whoever could miss every random encounter and beat the first dungeon boss for the automatic level up, right?

How about something involving the game Slalom?

Now that would take some skill......beating the first palace guard in 10 minutes or less. Although if you used a Game Genie, you might be able to do it faster since there was code that lets you swap the shield spell for the fairy spell. Then you could bypass the locks without having to find keys.

You'd have to go directly there from the start, I'm pretty sure it's doable though. Gonna try it right now, actually.

[edit - in about 5:00 I got to the last knight before the first boss. So counting how balls I am at Zelda II, and counting that I lost time due to dying and waiting for the room to restart, it's totally doable. No codes or anything, just went straight for it.]

Bases loaded or double dribble or techmo bowl. start from a save state so everyone is the same team against the same team. Whoever beats the computer by the most points wins. (9 innings may be long, so you sould make it a 3 inning game instead). I'd just like to see a sports game incorporated into the challenge somehow.

Nice. You'll also want to memorize the layout of the dungeon if you haven't already. Let us know if you pull it off!

How about Metroid. Try and find the most missle packs in 10 minutes, lol. Or maybe have it save stated in a room and you have to try and find/kill an item/boss as fast as you can through the maze like rooms

Bionic Commando- beat any stage without killing any enemy soldiers. Pick any stage, preferably a short stage for time purposes and not the damn neutral stages because there's no enemies there anyways. Amount of energy would be entirely up to you.... 3-4 seems like a good number of life for a challenge like this.

Just to help anyone who goes for it:
Go left and get the key.
Go back to the right until you see the fairy, go up.
Go right until you reach the first key, then go back to the elevator and take it all the way down.
Go right until you get to the boss.
You don't need the third key because you're not going to bother with the candle (unless you want the XP from the enemies down there)

[edit - It's totally doable in 10:00, and you have time left over. So I guess you could get the XP bag in the woods near the game's start and also get the statue from the nearby cave to collect the spell if you really wanted, or you could go straight to the dungeon but take the time to get the candle and beat those enemies. Only hangup is that when you reach the initial 200 XP, it seems that you cannot select cancel, and are forced to pick at least one stat increase.]

Well done, brother. Although as you say this probably wouldn't be the best way to rack up experience points, as you are forced to cap them at 200.

I wonder if a better way would be to go South of the palace, to that spot where two Moblins are protecting a heart container. I think they give you 10 or 20 EXP each, right? So you could enter that screen, kill them and repeat it so many times in 10 minutes to rack up a good number of points.

I wanted to say Level 1 of Super C, 24 rounds, but those turrets require to-the-pixel accuracy to jump over.

EDIT: Super C level 1, 1 life, 12 shots (not including the boss). A shot is when something comes out of your gun. Least shots wins. Time for tie breaker.
