Well, yea, there is no way they would do a sequel based on how they left everything in the last film, that would be retarded.
I would imagine they would start off fresh.

Didn't WB buy Midway? Otherwise I get the strange feeling DarkMaze is up to something.

Yes yes yes FUCK YES! I don't see any confirmation that Christopher Lambert is back as Raiden, but I've heard that he will be for a long, long time now. As long as its true, I will be happy.

Why would Christopher Lambert be back? There's been so many rumors concerning an MK3 movie for probably a decade now that I've lost track...
If this is a reboot it might have a chance of being good. Any connection to the travesty known as Annihilation would doom it to failure. Then again, 99% of video game movies are doomed to failure anyway...

As long as Linden Asaby (spelling) comes back as Johnny Cage I am down! Oh and you can't kill him at the start of the damn movie either.

Because...BECAUSE! Because I want him back really, really badly?
I'll cry if he's not. And then I'll circulate a list to all my girly friends about the "ideal Mortal Kombat 3" movie because I'll be so brokenhearted.

I have never wanted to walk out of a theater 5 minutes into a film more in my life.

I literally sat there and pouted the whole movie. I remember being so psyched for it. I just got my license and then had to sit there while my friends ridiculed me cause I was saying how much ass Johnny Cage kicked. I COULD have left them but I took the high road.

Here's hoping that Robin Shou will reprise his role as Liu Kang; I couldn't see anyone else doing it. Besides, the last movie he did was that Chun-Li movie, something tells me he doesn't have anything better to do.
Also, I'm hoping Bridgette Wilson will reprise her role as Sonya Blade. Heck, why don't they bring back the entire cast from the first movie? Save for Robin Shou and the girl who played Kitana, all the actors from the Annihilation were annoying.

Agreed, I loved Kitana. (I will admit I didn't hate the guy playing Raiden though. He was no Lambert, but he wasn't horrible.) (Um, or maybe I'm just a huge Raiden mark.)

Unless there's some aging issues, the cast from the first movie would be just fine. I am afraid of them looking too old, though.

I noticed that to, but managed to resist the urge to point it out.

Trevor Goddard(AKA: Best Kano ever), is no longer with us, I'm afraid.

				1. Tony Jaa would be an awesome Liu Kang, and he was Robin Shou's stunt double in Annihilation.
2. I'd love to see Christopher Lambert return.
 3. I'd love to see Bridgette Wilson-Sampras return too, but I guarantee they'll use someone younger.
 4. Stop whining about Johnny Cage dying in Annihilation. The plot was based on MK3, and Johnny Cage dies at the beginning of that storyline too. You're lucky they didn't kill him offscreen.

My favorite part of Annihilation was Raiden's fight scenes. Ray Park was his stunut double, and you can tell because they didn't bother to dye his hair white.
