I just got done watching a walkthrough of Breakdown:

The walkthrougher kept saying that the game is a looping time paradox but for some reason it makes sense to me, and i don't really think it is a loop.

WARNING: My explanation will only make sense to those who have played or are familiar with the game.

First off, at the very beginning, Derrick meets up with Alex from the Future. She then helps him out, they briefly meet up with Alex as a kid (her past self) then after the military blows up Site Zero, Derrick is pulled into the future by some time-gizmo the scientist cook up.

It is then that the Future Alex firsts meets up with Derrick and when she is pulled into the past with him, they get separated and she goes as far back as to the beginning, to when past Derrick first met her. It is then she has a hard time contemplating why he does not remember her or why his powers are gone, because they never met according to his POV and his powers were still dormant.

At the end Derrick destroys Soulus and the Nexus, saving his timeline but Alex's future is still unknown and so Derrick goes back with Alex to her timeline's future to save it. And maybe get laid in the process. There really is no loop, because Derrick goes back to the future and not the past, therefore not making any time loop.

I know that's a vague summery but if someone can give a better explanation, please do. Seriously, i know trying to figure out time paradoxes is a brain teaser but they are damn fun to figure out.
