I’m not going to deconstruct the plot. What I mentioned above is pretty much all one needs to know. Basically a tax collector comes to a small village and ends up spending time in a haunted temple where he falls in love with a beautiful ghost. The ghost is the slave of an evil tree spirit to which she is bound for eternity. The tax collector also meets a Taoist Swordmaster/Magician who helps him out.
That’s it, that’s all you need to know. Just watch the film. It’s the best time one is likely to have all week.
