Does anyone know whether a Super Famicom/PAL SNES controller is compatible with the NTSC Super Nintendo? I like the multicolored button look better, but I don't want to buy a controller that will just end up as a decorative ornament/coaster.

As long as the the plug and pin configuration is the same, it should work.

After posting this, I realized that they use the same outer shell design, and that I could just swap out the boards if it doesn't work. Although, I'm pretty sure they have the same pin out.

If they don't work, someone probably makes a converter.
I have seen the multicolored controllers used on SNES consoles. I don't know if they were designed for it or if they were imports, but they were definitely used.
I'm pretty sure that the eBay seller was either full of shit or covering his own ass when he said that they wouldn't work, as from what I can see they have the exact same pinouts.
