Jill and Barry- Resident Evil (Original PS version)

Aside from the fact that the way they talk you'd think they had just recently been given a full frontal lobotomy, they were too stupid to aim correctly.

Jill: SHOOT IT'S HEAD!

Barry:*Shoots upward, the bullet hits the roof*

Jill: WELL, SHOOT IT'S FEET!

Barry:*Manages to shoot his groin*

That, and their total lack of common sense. There were tyrants, giant snakes, ungodly amounts of zombies, and god knows what else in the whole mansion and maybe, maybe
five zombie dogs outside. Which seems like the wiser choice? At the very least, they could just leave the door open and shoot the dogs as they come in until they're all dead at which point they get the hell out of there.

Barry was an essentially good guy, but he was being blackmailed by Wesker. That's why he helps Jill when he can but turns on her when she gets too close to the truth, but he eventually does the right thing. In order to get Jill's best ending, you need to keep him alive.

And Barry is awesome. He totally deserves his own RE game, a proper one, not that bullshit GBC game.

As for dumb characters, how about Luigi? He gets scared way too easily.

Or the camp counselors in Friday The 13th, since they think pelting Jason with rocks might kill him.

Or Shujinko in Mortal Kombat: Deception, since he wastes 45 years of his life thinking he's serving the Elder Gods, when he in reality he's helping Onaga restore his corporeal form.

Or the paperboy in Paperboy. When there are fucking tornados and psycho ladies with knives roaming around your delivery route maybe it's time to quit.

Or Link in Ocarina of Time, since he breaks the seal on the Temple of Time, allowing Ganondorf to take over Hyrule in the future.

Hikari Netto from the Rockman EXE series. Even ignoring all the obtuseness concerning the main love interest, which I consider a contingency because it's as much of an EXE tradition as fighting everyone all over again is in the original series, he's still pretty stupid. I can't count the number of obviously evil, creepy, and suspicious characters he's passed over with a whoosh.

He's Lan Hikari in Battle Network and NT Warrior *cringe,* But he's Hikari Netto in .EXE. As an aside, I think Enzan is a hell of a better name than Chaud.

On a side note, Hammer (from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow) may not be completely retarded, however whenever he talks about Yoko, he seems high.

ANYONE of the screaming fucktards from the game "Knuckles Chaotix" on that doomed 32X "console" for the Sega Genesis. Each of those characters were the most singlehandedly irritating pieces of want to be hero shit I've ever encountered.

I would rather lie on a bed of spikes and let some gorrilla piss allover my face then have to see them ever again.

Only his name. If they actually went to the effort of finding a clever opposite name to Luigi instead of just combining wario and luigi and using an upside down L for his symbol, it would have been good. But instead the ridiculous name ruined the concept.

The only game I owned with him was Mario Tennis anyway, so it doesn't matter too much for me.

Wow, Ashley in RE4 is fucking annoying. Her entire purpose in life is to scream LEOOOOOOOOOOON, HEEEEEEEELP, over and over. I only died like three times on my playthrough of RE4, and they were all accidental deaths due to shooting Ashley.

I used the infinite launcher instead of the sniper rifle to bust her restraints, since she was at full health she survived the blast with a mere sliver (and apparently the way the game was coded I was at full health controlling her in the next chapter).
