While I did find that video amusing, I saw this coming from a mile away. It is MTV, and it is "Twilight" after all. The "Twilight phenomenon" will die down, and we'll all get to say "I told you so." With regard to MTV itself, I'll let the Dead Kennedys do the talking for me:

This is an injustice. The last thing Stephenie Meyer needs is encouragement and praise for the drivel she's created.
Then again, I wasn't exactly expecting better from the likes of MTV.

So, shiny vampires beat out what some might consider one of the best films ever made, and surely one of the best superhero films. And Iron Man. And The Incredible Hulk. And Tropic Thunder. And Star Trek. And basically every other movie released this year. I hate Twilight, I hate fans of Twilight, and most of all I hate Stephanie Meyer.

I actually like Iron Man more than the Dark Knight, but DK will definitely go down as the better film. In my personal collection, however, Iron Man will always reign supreme.

What the fuck are all of you doing watching MTV?
That shit went sour back in 1992.

MTV was watchable up until around the time they cancelled Headbangers' Ball, which was like 1996 or so.
As for Dark Knight didn't that come out last June? MTV is doing 2008 movie awards halfway through 2009? Who the fuck even still remembers 2008?
Why does this surprise anyone? You have to pay to text your votes for best movie, and the only people stupid enough to do that are the 16 year old girls that are the target audience of Twilight.

Seriously though, while I really liked Iron Man, I don't understand how someone can like it more than Dark Knight. Not nearly as epic or substantial.

Iron Man was a good origin story, better than Batman Begins. But the antagonist was a little too boring to put the movie on the same level as The Dark Knight.
I think Batman Begins is still better than Iron Man, and possibly slightly better than TDK. Besides the excessive exposition in the climax, it's the perfect origin story.

To be honest, I hated Bale as Batman. He's part of the reason why I prefer the original Burton film.

I wouldn't let Twilight sweep my ass, let alone any awards.
The more I ponder, the more I dislike Iron Man. It wasn't a bad movie, but I feel like the only character I cared for was John Stark and it makes the movie feel very empty, whereas Batman Begins and Dark Knight had more flushed out characters with tangible backgrounds in my opinion.
The Incredible Hulk felt like Iron Man / 10,000. The same reasoning behind it, except I didn't care for Banner either.

The only thing wrong with his performance is that he overdoes the Batman voice. It needs to be husky, but he goes overboard into annoying territory. Otherwise, he's done a perfect job. The voice is the only flaw.

Are you kidding me? Dark knight had two characters, and a bunch of people who were there. And I'm not going to say that the villian in Iron Man is better, but Obadiah Stain is masterfully played.
Actually, I take that back. I don't know if you can call the Joker a character, he has no history or human connections and spends the movie pulling off plans of such complexity that they cross the border into ludicrous.

He didn't have a flushed out background, but he had a very flushed out psychology and an interesting view of society.

Pretty much another thing I disliked about TDK, Joker was made out to be omniscient or something.

RG, I think you're purposefully cooking up some delicious Cattivo-bait
I doubt your statement was serious, but Obadiah was a pretty empty, one-dimensional villain. Joker's complexities are too numerous to list out, and his anarchic philosophy was well thought out and displayed, while proving a great counter-balance to Batman's and Dent's emphasis on order.

So I was looking it up, and the one award Twilight didn't win was the only one I wanted them to win, that being Paramore's song 'Decode' winning Best Song From A Movie. I love that song and figured it would win no problem. But nooooooooooo who did that award go to???
