So, while trying to sleep, my brain began going over riffs in my head, because my bass is gone.

Then it went and put words to them. Before I knew it, I had a decent song going. By the time I found my glasses and laptop and got ready to put it on something.....

Most of it was fucking gone. Hellassballs.

Anyone else get fucked like this?

I did manage to save some of it, not as good as the original though.

<Tako> But, brontosaurs ate plants. It wouldn't be a threat to Jesus.

Why? Fuck you, that's why.

Sometimes, before I fall asleep, my mind will think of something real profound, and I will semi-consciously realize that I'm thinking something very clever/inspirational/unique...and then I fall asleep and have no recollection of it the next morning.

WTF is that, and why does it happen?

Stuff like that happens a lot to me, especially when I'm working on an essay. I really should start keeping a small pad and pen on my nightstand.

That's exactly what I do. I write fiction, so I get midnight ideas like that all the time. I lost more than I can count until I started keeping a flashlight, pen and paper right next to my bed.

My phone has a voice recorder on it, so anytime I think of a good riff, lyric, or vocal part, I whip out my phone and make a quick mental note. That actually came in handy today, actually.

Eddie Van Halen keeps a guitar in every room of his house, because most of his best riffs came to him while he was taking a shit.

This fucking shit happens to me all the time. What's even worse is when I think of an awesome picture to draw, and then realize I don't have enough skills to even attempt to make it look as cool as I want it to be.

You know, that happens to me all the time. Like, a hell of a lot. Once a day. And yes, inspration is an ass. I oftentimes dream really, really kickass stuff and forget about it before I can write it down for me to work with later. The worst part with dreams, though, is forgetting details like what a person looks like or what caused something to happen.
