I was wondering, what were the most expensive video game purchases everybody has made. I won't put any qualifiers on the question. If you bought a vintage game, an over priced system during its prime, an arcade game, or a game that has an unbelievable mark-up on Ebay I would like to hear about it.

There was this one flight (Space flight?) simulator I remember reading about. It was the most expensive video game ever. It was built OUT OF A VAN.

Twilight Princess for gamecube (about $50 I think). The only brand new game I have ever bought, besides a couple of cheap PC games and a few player's choice gamcube games. I still don't have a wii.

My most expensive videogame related purchase was probably when I got my Wii. That was like $250 plus RE4 and SSBB. The other one that would come close was when I got my PS2 and a crapload of games for it, but that was way too long ago to remember.

World of Warcraft + Expansion = $100
Add: 24 months X $15 = $360

Total $460 for 1 game.

Premium Xbox 360 for $400, that's the most expensive I've bought myself for one thing.

My most expensive purchase was probably my Wii with a second Wiimote, a Classic Controller, a Wii Points Card, a 1 GB SD Card, and Twilight Princess.

I don't remember how much I paid, though.

Shortly after Christmas quite a few years back I bought Diablo II, Mega Man X5, Dragon Quest VII, and one other game I can't remember.

Overall I think Pokemon as a whole is the biggest culprit:
Pearl + Platinum + Battle Revolution + Emerald +Colisseum + LeafGreen 17.99 = $211.80 after tax (Colliseum and LeafGreen were used) for what essentially boils down to one game.

Not a video game but I spent about $1,800 on a Funhouse pinball machine back in 2003. It is not at my parent's house because it wouldn't fit up the stairs into my current apartment.

My original Xbox that I got back for my 12th birthday (not even a year after it came out) + Extra controller + Amped + memory card was somewhere in the $300-$360 range. The money was given to me so I guess it counts.

But if this is talking about the most expensive shit you've bought with your sweat and blood, I'd have to say a DS lite, full price and a M3 Real flashcard which was around $180.

Rock Band (full kit)
Rock Band 2 (full kit)
Guitar Hero: World Tour (full kit)

And of course, the Wii itself.

I guess my 360 should be on that list too, but I bought it used at a reasonable price, so I'm loathe to count it.

Hey, I'm 21 months sober from that shit, and to be honest, it was actually saving me money. I spend a lot more now that I have a life.
