I've heard mixed reviews and i like both Batman and Kevin Smith. Is it worth getting (provided the 3 issues are in Graphic Novel form)

I've already got both miller classics: (year one and Dark Knight returns), Arkham Asylum and The Long Halloween. Any suggestions to add to my Batcollection?

I suggest The Killing Joke, Hush, and No Man's Land.

As for Cacophony, I read part one and I was done with it. It didn't feel like a Batman story at all, it felt like a Kevin Smith movie. Actually, it felt like a bad Kevin Smith movie. I heard that it did get a little better, but the first issue was pretty painful to read, and even those who agreed it got better also agreed that this was a far cry from his acclaimed Flash and Green Arrow runs. I'd say pass, but definitely read those other 3 I mentioned. (Of course, while The Killing Joke was a single prestige format issue and Hush is two trade paperbacks, No Man's Land I believe takes 6 or 7 trades. It's also a great story, but if budget is a concern I"d start with the other two.)

I actually had HUSH in mind too, thanks Jeebus. I'll wait for Cacophony to drop in price or borrow it from a friend . . . if anyone I know owns it.

I ended up buying Hush:v1 and since volume 2 was not in stock, i got 'dark victory' instead, which is a sequel to my favorite Batman graphicnovel, the Long Halloween.

The ending conversation in cacophony is HORRIBLE. It almost ruins the Joker. Really, I'm dead fucking serious. Onomatopoeia is a pretty cool bad guy in a Dick Sprang sort of way, but he needs to get a better story.

Hush was always one of my favorite stories. It made the Riddler cool again. Anything after that story concerning Hush is pretty worthless, though.

"Dark Victory?" I'm torn on that one. I kinda like it, but I thought the resolution of the story was dumb, and the Catwoman stuff wasn't that good. Also, the Robin story is WAY too rushed.
