For those of you who love baseball, Harry Kalas is iconic. He was the Phillies broadcaster for many years and he was a baseball institution...just as much as Vin Scully, Jack Buck, and Harry Carey.
For others, he was the uber-recognizable voice of NFL Films.
He passed away today after being found unconscious in the press booth at Naitonals Stadium in Washington D.C. It is a great loss for anyone who is a fan of sports, but even moreso those who were fans of the golden age of sports broadcasting. The man was a class-act on and off the field and he will surely be missed. I am just happy that he was able to see the Phillies win another title before he passed. Truly a sad day for sports.
