By artist I mean painter, author, musician, poet, sculptor, whatever.

I got to thinking about this because I was cranking "Enter Sandman" the other day, and it occurred to me just how perfectly it fits with pretty much everything Stephen King has ever done. If he had a theme song, "Enter Sandman" would be it.

I love this version. The orchestra makes it sound even more like a horror anthem than it already is. The soundtrack of nightmares, I swear to god.

I'm sure I'll think of some others later, but that's the only one right now. Anyone else got any?

Alex Pardee, who is responsible for Evil Steve Urkel, Bunnywith, and other crazy shit, can put whatever music he wants in the speed painting videos, but I will always imagine he paints to Without Emotions

My favorite poet is William Wordsworth, and I see him listening to old Delta blues while he writes. I imagine Michelangelo probably would've cranked some Motley Crue or Guns N' Roses (besides the obvious connection there) while painting.

Damn, I really don't read much, so this is kind of tough. I'd imagine Lovecraft would be big on Metallica's 'The Call of Ktulu", or "The Thing That Should Not Be", even if those were the weakest songs on their first three albums. While I'm not a fan, I'd say Ayn Rand would love Rush's "2112", and "Anthem." And Mark Twain would definitely be down for cranking "Tom Sawyer." Edgar Allan Poe would be down with some Nevermore (even though I really don't listen to them a lot), and I could see Cormac McCarthy being down with some ZZ Top, SRV, or Pantera (it's the Texas thing No Country had).
And as for painters, I could see those surrealistic painters being down with some obnoxious, "experimental" noise music.

I'm thinking Bret Easton Ellis most likely listened to Joy Division while writing Less than Zero (particularly "Digital").

Though Kadinsky (a huge inspiration for my paintings) obviously listened to classical while painting, I could see him digging the Zep nowadays
