Well, I guess we all now know Weird Al's stance on music downloading....

Actually, we don't. The song blatantly detracts from music downloading, but he also pokes fun at the concept of rich music artists suing every penny out of regular people just for a few stolen songs.

On a side note, if you play the Poodle Hat extras on a PC, a message from Weird Al has him saying "Thanks for actually buying this CD instead of downloading it like some communist". I guess he hates both music downloading and money hungry lawyers.

Song was fucking hilarious, though.

Seeing as the song is available for download from the link and seeing as Weird Al plugs some of the biggest P2P programs, I'm pretty sure Weird Al doesn't really care if you download songs.

Actually, he says "like some hooligan!". Minor correction, but I think the word choice affects the tone. There's a difference between Communists and hooligans, especially when you grow up during the red scare. Besides, usually the government associates music piracy with communism, Al's above all that. The song's hilarious, but Blunt's record company's reaction is priceless.

Okay, so "White and Nerdy" got pulled from YouTube yesterday due to legal threats. The funny-sad thing is that AOL was supposed to have a world premiere of the video online last night, but cancelled because it had been leaked and "OMG PEOPLE HAVE SEEN IT ALREADY!".

So Al decided to be a cool guy and upload the video to YouTube last night himself. And here it is:

I heard the song last week, but this video was stupendous just on the visual references to nerd phenomenon.

What's the song he's parodying in "White and Nerdy?"

The album is awesome. Especially when you talk about its intelligent satire for 30 minutes... then you just kind of feel white and nerdy. Embarrassed
