It takes a while for the email to go through. I'd wait at least 24 hours for the email. If you don't get one then, contact dalnet about it. I'm not sure, but I remember it taking something like a day to get that email.... Good things come to those who wait!

It is broken and therefore this is an attempt to fix it.

The negative in this situation is that it require everyone to type: /identify <password> when they login.

The positives were listed in the wiki article linked to in the original post of this thread.

It would be appreciated that if anyone has a problem with this change they offer an alternative theory or solution rather than an unhelpful quote.

Edit:
The 1 week delay is so that people can sort out their nickname registration. If anyone has problems after a few days with the registration please post them here so we can work together to try and resolve the issues.

Overall good idea, I think, and its not like it seems that difficult to get registered.

Well, with given natural intelligence of trolls in the chat room, I'd say they aren't smart enough to figure out how to register... besides they use mostly the Web-based Clients.

Yes they can, but they have to register through the system which gives a bit more control to the OPs.

You may register as long as you have an email address. The link in the first post here should also give you instructions about how to register.

There are no client restrictions on registration.

Also, it is worth noting that the Ban List now exists. It doesn't ban any individuals... yet. Hopefully it never will! It simply blocks certain user names from being abused. I can't imagine why we needed to do this. Rolling Eyes
