I swear to God, I am going to find that British girl and punch her in the face over and over. Then I'll work her legs a little bit, so that she can't run away. Her beating will continue for another 15 minutes and culminate with a donkey punch. It will be fatal.

Do you guys not realize this is fake?

EDIT: Everyone seems to be reporting that it's legit, but we'll see. Looks awfully damn amateurish to me.

Have you ever seen retail training videos? Most of them are awful and amateurish.

Not retail ones. I've seen some for fast food and universities, and those are usually pretty slick.

If it's legit, I hope everyone involved suffers dearly.

f

...Yeah, the 'What to do when you're getting Robbed' parts of the Fast Food videos are always entertaining, what with all their "Don't Be A Hero!" talk and all...

Was I supposed to put something here?

Is this confirmed real? Because I'm gonna HAVE to call shenanigans on this one. There is no way any self-respecting company would put out something like that. (...Would they?)

^Seconded. What about the possibility of a female employee working at Gamestop (and they do exist)? I'd think they wouldn't seriously air this for fear of offending someone...

EDIT: I realize that this post came across as a bit sexist, and that wasn't my intention.

My first clue that it's not real is that the beginning portion of the video takes place in a library, not a Gamestop. This leads me to believe that the manager caught them filming in the store and got pissed, so they had to do the intro to the video off site.

Also, not only is this insulting to women, they also insult their male clientele in the beginning when they explain how men and women differ. I couldn't make it through the entire thing, but I'm convinced that this is both fake and stupid.

#edit: I've also NEVER heard of this "Sharpen the mind, shape the body" promotion, and I both stop in Gamestop every time I'm in the mall and see Gamestop commercials on TV on an almost daily basis.

Google "sharpen the mind, shape the body". The first result is a page on GameStop.

I dunno how women feel in that regard, but the easiest way to lose me as a customer, is having your employees try to sell me additional stuff when I came in with a specific purchase in mind. If I was interested in buying something else, I would have fucking asked.

That looks more like a book store than a library and I'm pretty sure they just wanted her to stand in front of a bunch of maps and travel guides to fit with the fake wildlife documentary theme of the video.

And was that supposed to be a British or an Australian accent? I can't tell the two apart. If the video tried to parody Crocodile Hunter, it should have been Australian.

Well, speaking for myself, I don't always mind unless the thing the suggest is completely unrelated to the item I'm purchasing. For example, last summer I bought a BBQ grill. It was expensive and I didn't plan on buying any accessories for it or anything. However, the salesman suggested I invest in a grill cover (to protect it from rain and shit). After thinking about it, I agreed that was a good idea and bought one.

What DOES piss me off is not so much people offering something extra once (especially if they work on commission, or of their boss is around.) I can understand trying. HOWEVER, once I politely decline, that should be the end of it. No disappointed face to try and guilt me into buying something I've said I don't want. No "are you sure" to waste my time and yours. Once I say no, its over. But like I said, I don't mind them trying to tack on some extras once, as long as their related to the product I said I'm there to buy.

Lmao, no. At a place called (aptly enough) the BBQ Pit. Just using that as an example of a time when an employee selling extras worked.

Same here actually. And they went through two managers who were female before that(sorta, lost in the EB games/gamestop merger).
