And by "fondest" I mean: fondest, first, worst, and random memory of the site.

Hey, I figure Syd did a retrospective, we should be allowed a thread to remember the site when it was good... hahaha... just kidding, Syd Embarrassed .

Fondest: That one time someone thought I was secretly Syd because of Reboot or something.

First: I just bought the entire series of Are You Afraid of the Dark and googled the show. Syd's site popped up. I read his Phantom Cab review, laughed my ass off, and I've been coming back ever since. That was like... the beginning of the year! Man, I feel old...

Worst: Um... I'm sure there was a worst. Maybe Syd made fun of something I love and respect... no idea what that was.

Random: I know I signed the Donkeylips petetion more than once, but reading over the names, I'll be damned if I know what names those were.

"If you will not tell me, I will hurt people!!!" -Nuclear Man

"Do you hear? The alpha and the omega. Death and rebirth. And as you die, so will I be reborn!" - Skeletor

8341 unread forum updates since I left (2/7/14)... Uh-oh.

I've only known the existence of this site for a few weeks and have only been a member of the forum for about a week, but I suppose I'll throw my two cents in on this subject.

Fondest: I'm bad with favorites, but I guess I'll go with the Mortal Kombat article. I say this because I used to have a book containing hints, cheats, and strategies for Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and 3 (not ultimate), and it reminded me of when I used to browse through it every once in a while.

First: I stumbled upon this site when looking up information on old video games on wikipedia. I was looking at one of the articles of Mega Man (I don't remember which one) and saw a link to this site, more specifically, to the Mega Man bosses article. After that, I was hooked.

Worst: Finding some games I liked on Syd's NES 20-game "hit list," so to speak. I can't remember which ones right now, but I think Ultra's TMNT was one of them.

Random: Random times that I've just burst out laughing in the library. Slightly embarrassing, but oh well, people need to practice concentration anyway.

RIP Hacker.

I've been around since March or April, so here we go.

Fondest: Tebor's response to my comment about not knowing how to use the three seashells and having to wipe my ass with SydLexia.com fun bucks.

First: I believe I was looking up info on Christine 'Moose' McGlide, and found the You Can't Do That on Television page.

Worst: When the number of comment for the news articles reached double digits.

Random: Considering purchasing Spiro Agnew's corpse

Ok here it goes.

First-I think it may have been an Erin esurance hentai search that brought me here. I think it happened at the begining of last summer then I came back later in the year for the same search then read a few articles. I think the first was the zelda love guide.

I remember the FWSE playing some part in this

I have no idea why I stayed

Best-the zombie thread

I think that may be one of the resons I joined the forum

Which reminds me. When will we see another FWSE

Holy shit.

Talk about BUMP.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Well, since it's here at this point:

Fondest memory: Winning the "Last person to post" competition by literally becoming the last person to post. Assist by Syd. Goal by Kubo.

I'll continue it.

Fondest: When IGN hotlinked Syd's picture of Qix. He changed the picture IGN had to a message saying "Fuck you, don't steal from Sydlexia.com" or something. It was up for 4 hours before they took it down.

First: I googled 100 best NES games, and found the 100 best NES games article.

Worst: Let's not go there.

Random: FWSE

In his defense, bumping ridiculously old threads is generally a no-no on the forums (as far as from what I've seen in the past). This instance may have been a mistake, as you sort of indicated by saying you thought it was on the first page, but general Internet manners say you don't revive a thread that's been dead for.... ummm.... 1200 days.

Hey, I think it is better to revive an old thread than to make a duplicate new thread. Anyways...

Fondest: The Great Food Forum Debate of '08
First: My first memory of the site is what brought me here: The top 100 NES games article. One of the best top hundred NES game articles out there, I may add.
Worst: When I thought It was all my fault Deku left...
Random: Jeeze, I don't know, I guess there's certain forumers who like to pop in and add some random shit to make me piss my pants...

I do not get pissed off easily. It takes work. Long, hard work. It just so happens that you pushed a button that makes the work easier.

I'm in!

Fondest: Easy. So far, it's been staying up until like four in the morning (my time) on New Year's Eve with...I think it was Ross, Anorexorcist, enshinkarateman, Josh posting in the Paranormal Experiences, Area 51, and Cryptozoology threads. Good, good times lol.

First: Hrmph, I can't quite remember. I think I somehow stumbled upon the 100 best NES or SNES game articles via a google search or something. Loved them of course. Read the rest of the articles, loved them. Lurked in the forums for quite some time to get a feel for the place, and decided to hang around. Smile

Worst: Ongoing, very time I stumble on a post by hacker.

Random: The feeling of awe and bliss I felt upon realizing I had discovered a place on the internet populated by cool people, with brains, who discuss things intelligently and give ideas (EVEN ONES THEY MAY NOT AGREE WITH OMFG!!!oneone!!one!!!) the weight and respect they deserve. Fucking awesome.

To be fair, it was four years' worth of work.

But adversely, I think this is an acceptable bump. (Just this once hack).

Fondest: Probably the Great Penis Fiasco of '08. In fact, you know what, aika saw mine. There ya go. I said it. And fuck it, she sent me a picture of someone else's unit, and not gonna lie, I was stupefied. Good job sir-who-shall-remain-anonymous.

I'M NOT GAY.

First: The review of 'Shout At The Devil'. Reading that and then the reviews of 'Number of the Beast', 'November Rain' and the 23-year-old Pepsi Free sealed the deal.

Worst: B.B. motherfucking King and the way he treated DarkMaze. Pissed me off so bad.

Random: Thanks for constantly quoting me DD.

First of all: I was the one who posted all those links in the paranormal thread. I am deeply hurt you forgot that.

Ahhh, dammit. I'm sorry. I knew I was gonna forget at least one person, but I was going purely off memory. And I never did look at those threads lol...I was way too freaked out that night to do it, and never got around to it thereafter. I'm gonna dig that thread up right now and check them out. Smile

Isn't it? I remember that I totally missed New Year's, basically, because I was too busy reading and posting to notice the time until it was after 12:30 lol. I didn't really mind though because I was home alone, and really didn't give a shit. Those threads were way, way more fun than any party I could have gone to would've been. (I frigging hate parties. Seriously.) So, a belated thanks to all y'all for the good time. Smile

I don't know if I have one moment I would call my fondest. Since I moved, I don't really have any friends. Everyone I know is at least 4 hours away. The only people I have to talk to are my wife and kid. I get to see my friends and family once a month if I am lucky, and that is usually only for a few days. So you all are pretty much my only friends while I'm stuck in the middle of Kansas. It's nice to have like minded people to talk to, even if it is on the internet.

I don't really have a worst moment. I like everyone. Nobody gets on my nerves. Nothing here upsets me. I would like to see Tebor on here more often talking about TV and movies. But I can't think of anything to complain about.

Special thanks to Ross for getting me turned on to Alice Cooper's radio show.

You're very welcome scam! And to be honest, all my friends are spread throughout the Fraser Valley (think county) and you guys are like, the only stable friends I have. I like each and every one of you. I even have a bit of a soft spot for hacker.

And doc, I'm pretty sure nobody is surprised by this revelation. I'm almost positive I'm on everybody's list of suspects (*cough*especiallyGP's*cough*) and always have been. Laughing
