I'm waiting for the "Which breakfast cereal should I have today" thread...

Anyways, that's a pretty good mix of good and suck. Duck Tales, Blaster Master, and Castlevania III are the best one in that list.

Anyone who tells you to play Abadox really just wants you to kill yourself.

I recommend that you play Abadox: The Deadly Inner War because it is the best game on your list.

I always liked Blaster Master and The Guardian Legend.

Shadowhand - Yes.
Thunderbirds - never played
Trojan - meh
Twin Eagle - Twin Cobra ripoff. Try that instead
Rygar - Yes.
POW- Prisoners of War - One of the only BEU's on the NES
Mach Rider - Pretty old game. Yeah, I guess.
Life Force - Fuck yes. Konami shooters always win.
Journey to Silius - Yes. The soundtrack alone makes me bust a nut.
Image Fight - Yes.
The Guardian Legend - You have to be crazy not to play this.
Gyruss - Ya.
Flying Warriors - Too confusing,
Defender II - Yes.
Dragon Fighter - Yes
Duck Tales - Yes.
Dynowarz - No.
Castelvania III -Yes.
Cobra Command - ?
Code Name Viper - Yes
Breakthru - ?
Blaster Master - Yes
The Battle of Olympus - Yes
Astyanax - OK
Amagon - ?
Alpha Mission - l like it, though a lot of people say it's not so good.
Abadox - The Deadly Inner War - Yes
Adventures of Captain Comic, The - lol, no.

Trojan kind of sucks. And by kind of, I mean a whole lot.

Mach Rider is somehow worse. Although I'm not a fan of racing games where it basically looks like you're sitting in one place while the terrain itself moves, so that's just me.

Rygar is a wonderful game!...If you're using an emulator. Good luck trying to get through the whole thing (let alone killing the final boss) without save states.

POW is a pretty good Double Dragon rip-off.

Journey to Silius is kickass in every concievable way. If you're using an emulator, rip the entire soundtrack.

Life Force is a great side-scrolling shooter.

Flying Warriors...eh. I remember hating it as a kid, but I played it again recently and it wasn't too bad. If you like Secret Scroll: Flying Dragon, you'll like Flying Warriors.

Dude, Duck Tales...don't even need to ask with that one. Play it. Immediately.

Image Fight is quite possibly one of the worst Galaga rip-offs I've ever played.

Guardian Legend is one of my favorite NES games. It switches between Galaga-on-crack stages and Zelda-style exploration.

Gyruss is probably my favorite arcade shooter for the NES. Why? I dunno, I just like it.

Dynowarz.....why don't you just see for yourself? Laughing

Castlevania III? Is this a rhetorical question? PLAY IT.

Code Name Viper is a complete and utter rip-off of Rolling Thunder. So if you like blistering difficulty, it's alright.

Blaster Master, hellz yes. An underrated Metroidvania-style game.

Battle of Olympus, also a good Metroidvania game, but be prepared to use save states; the game uses enormous passwords. Shocked

Astyanax...don't bother. Trust me.

Amagon is one of the worst games. I've ever played. It's easily the worst Contra rip-off I've ever played, and it's just...so...mundane.

Captain Comic is a waste of my life. If I press the A button, I really expect my onscreen character to jump within three seconds of the press. Not so with Captain Comic.

The other ones I either haven't played or haven't heard of.

My Rygar cart is busted, it flips out and resets after a few minutes of play. Mad

Also, you need to play the following games if you want to have a rockin time.

Snoopy's Silly Sports Spectacular (NES)

Garfield (NES)

Rex Ronin Experimental Surgeon (SNES)

Mystery Quest (NES)

and last but not least The Krion Conquest (NES)

have fun! Smile

of all the games I played for Nintendo I think this was the game I hated having in my collection more than any other, sure there are many worse games out their for Nintendo but this game disappointed me and made me feel cheated more than any other.Judging by the cover I felt like I was going to be playing a hybrid of Mario Bros and Link game that had every element of gameplay a kid my age could want.Boy was I wrong.
After my dad bought this game in 1989 I tried so hard to try to enjoy this 50 dollar piece of garbage but the damage had been done.Between the boring gameplay and the impossible jumps I could never get through, this game was a bad childhood memory I wish I could have avoided.

The original and second game(When you don't know what to do) are both more difficult, at least in my opinion. Death's a bastard in the original....

Also, don't make the same mistake I did....Cobra Command has nothing to do with Cobra Commander, even though a G.I. Joe game on the NES exists...

Castlevania III is only really hard at Dracula. It is definitely hard as crap if you don't have a second person to switch to during the fight with him. I didn't find it that hard to get to him though.

Galaga and it's actual clones are "fixed space" shooters. You can normally only move sideways. They give the the illusion you're flying through a starfield. Nothing is really in motion, just you and the enemies are.

Vert scrolling shooters actually scroll up while the landscape/space area scrolls. Sometimes they can even have obstacles like walls and such, like in any side-scrolling shooter. You can move in all 4 directions.

Hope that cleared that up.

The GI Joe game is kinda hard, but's pretty funny to kick the jet to death with Snake Eyes in the end of the first level.
