Hey, guys. After about two and a half years of playing Wii, I've got to wondering, what do you think are the best and the worst Wii accessories so far? While there have been some great ones, such as the Classic Controller and the Balance Board, there also has been some crap. What will you nominate for the best and worst accessory awards? You can nominate either first or third party accessories.

For the best accessory award, I'm going to nominate the Classic Controller. I know many people may not agree with me, but I personally think it's one of the best accessories for the Wii ever. It's the best thing, in my opinion, for most Virtual Console games, especially SNES and Sega Genesis titles. (Have you ever tried Super Mario World with a Gamecube Controller? It sucks, trust me.) I even preferred it over the Gamecube Controller for the N64 games, especially since I like the thumbsticks on it. I'd definitely recommend this to anybody who downloads Virtual Console games, especially SNES and Sega Genesis ones.

For the worst accessory award. I'm going to nominate the Wii Zapper. While this isn't the worst accessory ever (even being better than a number of other accessories, really), it's really a humongous disappointment. There are only a handful of titles that cater to this accessory so far and setting it up is somewhat tedious. It isn't even set up right; the handle of the gun (not to mention the trigger) is toward the front of the contraption, so it's barely at all like a real gun. In fact, I have to wonder why Nintendo didn't stick with the Prototype Zapper as it's almost definitely a better design. That was a half-assed move, Nintendo.

I agree with the classic controller being the best accessory. It just feels so old school, which the Gamecube controller doesn't seem to do.

The worst would have to be the tennis racket/baseball bat/golf club extensions to the Wii remote. It's just plastic that does nothing but take up more space where you are playing, and you will need as much space as possible if you are going to move the remote around.

The Perfect Shot is by far much better than the Wii Zapper, awesomeness.

As for worst accessory, I'll say the Wii Wheel. It's just a bit of plastic, and attempting to drive with it is just very awkward.

I had doubts about the Perfect Shot, but since it has a port in the back, I might consider buying it now.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Perfect Shot. I like the Zapper though. And I love Link's Crossbow Training.

Yeah, but Link's Crossbow Training might be the only good game where the current Zapper idea was good, in my opinion. I guess I just loved the old Zapper design too much. Confused

I agree on the Classic Controller. I just feels so... SNESy.

Plus, the Gamecube controller doesn't support Rumble Pak emulation in N64 games (or rather, VC doesn't), so it's pointless getting one just for the Virtual Console.

And yeah, Super Mario World sucks royal ass on a GCN. You CANNOT do a running jump on that thing, unless you have thumbs of steel.

I remember seeing something in a magazine, it's basically this plastic contraption where you slide your Wiimotes into it and you can hold them like a handgun. Apparently it has no real benefit to gameplay, so I'd like to nominate it for worst accessory, due to it being nothing more than a $30 piece of plastic.

Cameron. Have you played with a perfect shot? My god. Resident Evil 4 with a perfect shot...

Amazing. Simply put, it was amazing.

I guess. But $30 for another way to aim? I'll pass.

WORST

Sword accessory for the Wiimote.

My grandmother got my aunt's kids two of these plastic sword shells for the Wii. I'm sure they have many variations of this, as I couldn't find a picture of those ones; I don't remember the brand either. They light up... with extra batteries... big whoop. They don't come with a game; they serve no purpose. I think these beat the hand gun mentioned above for the worst accessory because toy swords encourage kids to fight each other... usually with the Wiimotes in the sword. That's not good for the shell or the Wiimotes. I think they were $15-20 a piece.

RIP Hacker.

Even worse. The sword attachments often block signals. Making game play WORSE.
