I just picked up this special edition magazine of 20 Years of Nintendo Power. It covers pretty much all the major moments in the magazine from the first issue to now. Well worth a look for the nostalgia factor.

"Anybody who ever built an empire, or changed the world, sat where you are now. And it’s because they sat there that they were able to do it."

"Fighting in a basement offers a lot of difficulties, number one being, you're fighting in a basement."

"You're Not So Tough Without Your Veggie!"

I saw that special edition at Blockbusters the other day. I couldn't pick it up, but I'm planning on buying it. What's all in it?

It covers some of the more major games to appear in the magazine with a small picture of the original article and then a brief bit about the game. It covers pretty much every Zelda game, most of the consoles and handhelds that were featured and so on. I unfortunately dropped my issue in some snow on the way home so the back pages are a little wrinkled, no big deal. It is a nice retrospective on the magazine and some of the some of the more important events in Nintendo's history in the past twenty years.

Nintendo Power was really great before the internet.

Then it became... well not as great.

I prefer magazines over gaming sites.

For what?

Reviews? Why, they never have them first.

Interviews? Yes they totally have them first.

Cheats? No... that is all at gamefaqs.com

I find having something I can easily roll up and carry is useful. And reading a not-screen is nice.

Seconded. Every morning before school I sit on my bed, eat breakfast, and read one of my 200 or so Game Informer magazines. I dunno, it's comforting, and you can't really get that feeling with a computer.

I just like the personality the writers have on magazines. On game sites everybody just gives out info and that's it. As for cheats, I don't cheat, so I don't care. Secret cheats and easter eggs have not been interesting since Y2K.
