Anyone remember this 1995 mindfuck of a miniseries that, if this is to be believed, spawned a movie ten years later? Over the last couple of months, I've had the DVD set on loan from a friend with whom I watched it. After watching the final episode a little while ago, I am now officially baffled as to how the movie came to be. It only ran for ten episodes, not even the industry standard thirteen, not one of which made the slightest iota of sense. The movie, on the other hand, made a fair amount of sense. Still, how did it even exist?

Before it was a stand alone series, it was a short on the animation program Liquid Television, which used to air on MTV.

Though, it didn't really explain much more about the series either.

I remember watching it on Liquid Television and then in 1995 when they started running it as a series. I have the complete animated collection on DVD and it is a great collection.

The movie on the other hand sucked. I hated how they didn't have the two cities divided and they tried to do too much with the story and it ended up just being a clusterfuck of a story and ended up being way too confusing.

I honestly never watched the entire series. Actually, the only time I ever really did watch it was on Liquid Television come to think of it. My preference for Liquid Television spin-offs was Beavis and Butthead. Aeon Flux honestly didn't do anything for me.

What about The Head? The Head was pretty cool.

I never really got into Aeon Flux, but I do like Reign by the same guy.

Yeah, the Head was great.

I usually like weird stuff, but Aeon Flux was even too weird for me.

I was all about B&B at that point, anyway.

The first season of The Head was cool but I didn't care for the second season.

YES.

And the artstyle was cool, I'll give it that.

I remember this one episode where someone tries to escape and they just miss by a little bit and they have their extremities lasered off and they become a trapped amputee.

It was strangely disturbing.

That was one of the coolest parts of the series. Cool

I don't like Reign, it's just really fruity. Not bashing or anything I just don't like it. Confused

Actually she got her legs cut off by saw blades. What is even more ironic is she gets her legs cut off by a device she built in her factory job.

Aeon Flux had some great animation but the story universe was lacking. I prefered the show when it was a silent on liquid TV.
