Back in middle school I was able to watch Degrassi Junior High on either Showtime or HBO (I forget which). Why am I bringing this up, you might ask? Looking through deviant art I found this:

Any others remember this show?

DUDE. I'm Canadian. Nuff said.
It's actually funny, because my mom is say, a year older than the main cast of the show. She missed a year though and gradded at the same time. And she had me around the same time Spike had Emma. So when the new show started, all the main characters were my age. That show is like the TV Bible in my house.

What Degrassi are we talking about? Is there a new one?
I know who Emma is, Darcy, Spinner, etc. Is this new show like Degrassi 90210?

Yeah, Degrassi: The Next Generation. It started back in 2001, and followed Emma and all her buddies through Junior High and High School.

Ah! then I've seen it. Tough for me to get into, but that was because I was already into a bunch of shows before it Only so much attention to go around.
Pretty hot girls on the show

Yeah I was tempted to ask for non-Canadians remembering it, mainly because of the whole paying extra for HBO/Showtime. I figured it was on basic cable up there.
I'm tempted to go hunt for some torrents of this thing.
Regarding the new (00's) Degrassi, Kevin Smith actually had a guest appearance on one episode.

You can buy the seasons on DVD. And yeah, it was like Channel 2 up here, so even if you didn't have cable, you had Degrassi

Should I put this in the "Stuff I'm Ashamed I Like" thread? Because I do love me some DeGrassi.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

Shenae Grimes, Cassie Steele, Nina Dobrev... I like the Degrassi: TNG one. I've never seen the older stuff, at least not under the old name.
A network called The N here plays the show a lot.

I miss shows in general that feature sexy teens getting it on. I've tried to pay sexy teens to have sex with each other so I can videotape it, but they always say no.
#EDIT: I'm in jail.

That was one of the few episodes I have seen. I remember seeing the Kevin Smith episode, and I think another with some lesbian action. It could have been the same episode. I can't remember. It was part of a marathon I saw part of.
Oh, and Ghandi, fuck The N. They took Kenan and Kel off the air. Its also not on DVD so the only way I can see it now is by illegal means. I heard they are bringing it back around the end of Feb, but it won't matter because my free preiview of The N will be over then. They put Drake and Josh on DVD but not Kenan and Kel. Fuck 'em. Its the same show but for white kids and little girls. FUCK!
Sorry. I get a little OOC sometimes.

I heard somewhere that Kenan and Kel was supposed to be coming to Comedy Central. Now THERE's a show I miss.

Well they just recently took it off The N. Now its coming back on at the end of Feb. I'm guessing enough people complained so they decided they screwed up taking it off the air. Now if you are right and it is popular enough to be on Comedy Central, it makes me seriously wonder why it can't be on DVD.

I don't really know about Nickelodeon anymore. Whoever is making DVD release decisions is a real moron. After all, like you said, Drake and Josh is just Kenan and Kel except less humorous, less edgy, and more boring.

Drake and Josh probably does have more appeal to young girls who have the hots for Drake Bell. The show isn't that bad, but for me, it isn't even close to Kenan and Kel. The only teen sitcom I would rather watch that Kenan and Kel is Saved by the Bell.
Nickelodeon pisses me off. Before I had a kid, all they would show was Spongebob. It was always on. Now, every time my kid wants to watch it, either Drake and Josh or iCarly is on. Its like those three shows and Fairly Odd Parents are all that comes on that channel.
