The 'Talladega' thread tangented off into scenes from commercials that aren't not in the actual movie.

What are some of these mystery scenes you remember and have haunted you all these years?

Some of my most memorable:
*Gremlins 2: The New Batch - Commercials and publicity photos showed a scene of the gremlins taking over the Grandpa Munster-wannabe's late night movie show. There was also a scene of Daniel Clamp suiting up with a SWAT team and going over the gremlin rules with them. Both these scenes were eventually released on DVD.

*Home Alone 2: Lost in New York - Kevin jumps on a giant trampoline somewhere in NY.

*Good Burger - A scene featuring the drive thru (appearing in a Showtime making of special). A scene with Kel and a pony (photos and novelization).

*Harriet the Spy - Tons of scenes from the making of special were not included in the actual film.

*Kids in the Hall Brain Candy - An additional character for Dave Foley as a fastfood religious priest who leads a revolution against the wonder drug (scenes available on bootleg tape). Not available: follow up scene with the "White Trash Man" and "White Trash Woman" and their strong kicking baby. A lowly cleaning woman in a scene with another Mark McKinney character.

*Camp Nowhere - A popcorn omelet explosion. (A scene similar to it is also advertised in the upcoming 'Camp Nowhere' remake "Accepted").

*Mighty Ducks 2 - Several scenes from photos, commercials, and the novelization which better explained the romance between Emilio and the asst. coach for Iceland, the romance between Julie and an Iceland player (the one from the end of the movie who says, "let's go shake their hands), more shenanigans with the MD players.

*Superman IV - 45 minutes cut from the movie (promised to be coming out later this year).

*Masters of the Universe - A scene underneath Grayskull, He-Man trying to break the Sorceress from her forcefield, and an extended good-bye by Julie before returning home.

My favorite scene is in the Gremlins when Chunk from The Goonies pops out and bites the guy's dick off when he's taking a piss

You beat me to it. Camp Nowhere was actually the first one that sprang to mind.

At first I thought you were seriously about Accepted being a Camp Nowhere remake... but no, it's just a movie with a very similar premise. I want to see it, but having just looked up the screenwriters' credits, I'm scared. The guys who wrote the movie have worked on such gems as New York Minute, The Country Bears, and Herbie Fully Loaded.

The Punisher (Both)

Lundgren - Deleted origin sequence. Which I finally did see and highly enjoyed. Slowed the film down considerably though...

Thomas Jane: The subplot about his ex-partner selling out his true identity because of gambling debts. Once again, this subplot was in the comic adaptation, but not the film. ONE WHOLE MINUTE of it can be seen on the DVD.

Hold on a second here, somebody wrote novelizations of these movies? Wow, that must be a terrible job. "What do you do for work?" "I uhhh...I write novelizations for movies like 'Good Burger'..."

What's worse is that I read them. Rolling Eyes

Someone asked me if I ever saw "Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III". I had to reply that I haven't. "But I saw the trailer where there's this figure in front of a lake and the trailer narrator starts talking and you're thinking 'oh, what's this movie?' Then a silver, shiny chainsaw comes up from the water and thrown into the air by a woman's hand. The hulking figure grabs it, lightening strikes it, he turns around to camera revealing he's Leatherface, FREEZE FRAME, and the trailer guy says the title of the film. That trailer was so good, I couldn't bring myself to watch the movie, because I knew that scene wasn't in it and there was no way it could be as good as that thirty second teaser."

So really random thread bump, but I saw it while I was looking for another thread and remembered this speech from yesterday. Rolling Eyes

Oh right, "Scary Movie 3". Instead they reshot a new one which parodied Reloaded instead of the first Matrix. The commercial version did look funnier.

That reminds me, I hate it when scenes shot for television are better than what's in the movie. Namely the scene in National Lampoon's Vacation where Clark asks a street pimp for directions. In the TV version he responds, "Who do I look like? Christopher Columbo?" In the movie he says "Fuck yo mama!"... Such a loss.
