Someone wanna explain this line in the box score to me:

0:00 PIT TD James Harrison intercepted Kurt Warner for 100 yards (Jeff Reed made PAT) 17 - 7

Looks like that made all the difference. 14 point swings suck.

Yeah, the Cards were on the goal just before the half. A Pitts guy intercepted and ran it back for a touchdown as time expired. Sad

Hahaha congratulations on the win, and on the record. I grudgingly admit you have one hell of a team this year, even if I wanted to see them get their asses kicked. Wink . Well done.

This is the second time in three months an Arizona-based team has lost and crushed my heart.

Oh man, that was scary close. After Holmes wiffed on that first TD pass I thought they were screwed. His last catch however was unbelievably awesome!

STEELERS WOOT

That actually had me screaming at the TV, which is something that I don't make a habit of doing.

I suppose I'll guess though:

Cardinals: 20

Um...

Yeah...

Also, I won the pot for our square game, though it was only done to keep the girls involved. So I think I walked away with $15.

You're crushed? Think how Johnny Mac feels. Sad

Great game, though. That's two great super bowls in a row. That almost makes up for the Bears losing XLI.....almost...

You know, the president backed the Steelers. Now, I know he's just a man like the rest of us, and of course he's allowed to have opinions on sports, but I don't think he should be airing those opinions. If the Bears had been in the Super Bowl, I don't think anyone would have expected him to back anyone other than the Bears... but they weren't. The Super Bowl may not be a political issue, but it is a divisive one. And for him to be taking a position on a divisive after pledging to unite the country is a little irresponsible, especially since the winning team is generally invited to the White House. What if the Cardinals had won? How in the hell could the president have extended any real congratulations to them when he had already backed the Steelers. Any message to them would have been addended with an unspoken "But I wish you hadn't won."

This is awesome.

It is the most nonsensical rant you have ever made, and yet... it is well constructed.

Nonsensical? It makes perfect sense. Last night I was also saying how awkward it would be at the White House trip if the Cards won.

Plus, it just rubs everything in for McCain. The guy beats him in November, than roots for the team that's playing against Mac's Cardinals in the Super Bowl, just because the owner of the Steelers supported his candidacy. Like Syd said, if it was the Bears, it would make sense, and feel like he's supporting the team for a real reason.

I think it was pretty foolish of Obama to actually say that. The honesty is refreshing, but it's bad form.

Not a major deal, though.

So on a semi-related note, I like how they get in Bruce Springsteen as part of their 'artists that are 'safer' than Janet Jackson' series, and he gives all of America a flying dicksmack during Born To Run.

That was the producers' fault. They should have cut to a different camera.

I liked the Amos & Andy routine that Bruce and Little Steven did.

"Oooh lordy, weesa gotta get outta here. Weesa gonna run into overtime."

That's how I remember it anyway.

Speaking of Steven, there should from now on be a manditory commercial with the Soprano cast during every Super Bowl. Not necessarily with Tony, but with the usual guys like Silvio, Paulie, and Big Pussy.

Really? Must've missed that. But what exactly is a "flying dicksmack?"

Was I the only person who marked out more for Max Weinburg and LaBamba then for Springsteen himself?

I missed the half-time show and YouTubed that, hehehe.
As for the game itself, it was certainly one hell of a game. I was rooting for the Cardinals, but have to give it to the Steelers, that 100-yard TD was damned impressive, plus the final touchdown by Santonio Holmes. Funny thing is, my last name is Holmes, and I'm currently located in San Antonio, Texas. Odd coincidence, eh? It was indeed a good game, with good commercials too. I can't get enough of the one where that old dude gets hit in the nuts, and the CareerBuilder.com one. Ah hahaha.

a flying dicksmack is a powerslide that goes awry, ending with the boss smacking the camera with his old ballsack.

If he was my boss, I'd quit.

I'm actually still quite mad over the Steelers win. I wanted them to lose, because Big Ben is a doof and Mike Tomlin is an arrogant prick. That and I'm a Cowboys fan and wanted Dallas to be the first team to 6 championships. Bastard Steelers!

Contrary to public opinion, the NFL did exist before the Super Bowl. Wink

The Packers actually have the most championships at 12.

The Bears are close behind with an admirable 9.

The Cowboys & Steelers still have some catching up to do. Razz
