I guess it started with that Epic Poem that Val wrote a while back, and since finding out that armageddon actually happens in that game, I've slowly but surely developed some sort of weird stalkers obsession. I've watched youtube clips of walkthroughs over and over again, and whenever I get one of the songs stuck in my head, I have to play it over and over again.

It's hard to not be obsessed with FFVI. I rented it all the fucking time back in the day. I beat it six ways to Sunday, whatever the hell that means. Six days? =-=shrugs=-=
It's a great game with a great storyline. There are a good amount of sidequests and even "hidden" characters. I really do need to play through this game again... along with about 50 others.

No I haven't played it, and yes I am just looking at all the stuff etc. etc. I won't play it on ROM as of having sworn off ROM's forever. I do have a Game Boy Advance but DISREGARD THAT I SUCK COCKS (i still want a DS though). As for SNES, I never played it there the first time around as it had the worst video game cover art in the history of video games.

Just play the goddamn game, don't drool over it, play it. It's incredible.
Although I like Final Fantasy IV better, it's still great. The music almost makes me emotional.

When I originally played the game I got all characters up to level 99 with all magic spells (Except for Ragnarok because I never got the spell/sword... I felt like getting that would make the game lobsided and incomplete in one way or another, better to have the choice of both than one or the other).
Oh, so my point was, I spent so much time on it, I don't desire to play that game again.

I know exactly what you mean. There's only two games that have done this to me: Chrono Trigger and FF 6/3.

I'm glad someone else feels the same about the music. My favorite is definitely the World Map music from the World of Balance.
I dig Nobuo Uematsu, I just never felt the same about any other Final Fantasy music as much as IV and most notably VI.

I'm guessing you mean that in a good way. Have you played Chrono Trigger? That music touched me in a way that should be illegal. That's why the game has such a nostalgic grasp on my life and is my favorite of all time.

Just play the game any way you can. I periodically pull it out and go through it again(am now actually). All that music, story, and battle things are much more fun and exciting when it's YOUR game.
Find a way

I recently bought a SNES again, so I can happily play it. But just this summer I played through Final Fantasy IV and VI on an emulator, and because it's an RPG and doesn't require reflex's or wrapping your hands around the controller in any bizzare way, I had absolutely no problem playing it.
I would definently recommend playing it anyway you can just so you can experience it yourself.

This game is win. All of Squaresoft's titles around this time were incredible and this is certainly a shining point for them.

Between surfing on the internet and listening to music, I spend waaay too much time on the computer, and I don't think it's very healthy. Emulators would only multiply that problem. That's why I quit playing FFIV about 7/8th's of the way through!

Like I mentioned in the other "FF3" thread. I recently got this on GBA, so now that I can actually play it and not oggle at it on youtube videos...
-Valdroious's poem has been blessing and a curse for me. On the one hand I'd never have been interested in this game if it wasn't for it, but on the other the plot is more or less completely spoiled for me. Everytime someone says "A second war of the Magi must not happen," I'm like "well tough shit, cos Mr. Japanese Joker ripoff is gonna blow up the world anyway." It just kinda sucks that I won't be able to me mindblown by the plot.
-The esper thing is kinda cool, you can essentially teach all spells to all characters in the process, but on the other hand, it makes everybody the same character, magically speaking. I'm assuming as a result of these espers, characters don't learn spells after leveling up anymore?
