It had me laughing the entire time. The plot was good. All the story arcs are interesting and they all tied together very well at the end. The action scenes are amazing. Way more in depth than you would think they would be in a comedy. The only problem is that some jokes feel repeated if you watched the commercials.

Go see this movie. You won't be disappointed.

Interesting, I had considered seeing this, since I heard it was much better than it looked. "Slumdog Millionare" is still next on my list of things to see since Danny Boyle is god, but I'll make a point of catching this before it leaves the theatre. Thanks for the recommendation. Smile

I saw it on Tuesday. It was rather good, but I wasn't expecting anything epic. Still, it was fun.

I want to see it, but of course my time to go to the movies usually never shows itself.

I respect everyone on this forum. I would go so far as even to call you my friends. That said-

Fuck that. There's no way in hell I'm going anywhere near this oh-look-a-fat-guy-fell-down turd.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

I hate Kevin James. He's an un-funny retard who thinks he's great.

His brother on the other hand, is somewhat entertaining.

Yes but sometimes that is precisely what you need to make your brain shut down for a blissful two hours of rest. Kind of like pot, but without the tar buildup in your lungs. Wink

I'd rather have a buildup in my lungs than put up with put up with two hours of self-torture. I don't mind some of Kevin James' stand-up, but this movie looks as retarded as most of the other comedies that have come out in the last 5 years.

Oh no doubt, Hawk... it's sometimes nice to shut your brain off. But I prefer my temporary labotomy from well... Big Trouble in Little China Smile

Probably not as much, but still far enough from my span of attention.

I like Kevin James, and this was written by him and Nick Bakay which fills me with confidence. I'm far more interested in seeing this than ANYTHING with Judd Apatow's name attached to it.

I agree that I like Kevin James as well, and he is pretty funny most times. He isn't perfect, but he entertains most of the time.

Hell no. One of the reasons I liked this movie is because it's a breath of fresh air from all the comedys that are being made.

Nothing could be as bad as "Meet the Spartans", or the "[insert word here] Movies". I would rather gouge my eyes out with carrots than watch that shit again.

I like bumbling fat guys. (John Candy in some roles)
I'm not so crazy about movies about hyperactive crazy fat guys (most of Jack Black's roles)
I prefer the compromise. The bumbling hyperactive fat guys (Chris Farley)

Here's a general rule every American should follow: stay away from big budget Hollywood "comedies" and instead keep your eyes open for independent, low budget ones like The Hammer, that aren't just shat out by greedy studios.

Every retard that saw Meet the Spartans, or any Jessica Alba turd is just further encouragement to big studios to push out rancid, horrible movies and ignore the smaller movies that are actually funny and entertaining.

I went in to Blart with low expectations, and I still hated it. I hate people that say that you need to stop over-analyzing movies, but that doesn't mean that I need to shut off all thought, and remember that the jokes in the movie have been told a million times, and better every other time.

This little essay at Pajiba put it pretty well:

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

On that topic, here's another recent article from I-mockery.com that I found quite poignant and true because I hate those people too. It also happens to mention Mall Cop.

Yeah. Seems everyone who sees it says it was actually good. I thought it was pretty good myself though. Also, I don't laugh very much and I did chuckle at the hot sauce bit near the end, so that may or may not say something.
