Hey guys!
Some of you may know how these work already. Since I CAN'T get into the IRC chat right now, and for those who may not want to go in for whatever reason, I'm opening up a chat thread.
Basic Rules are as follows, or suggestions in some cases.
1. Stickied Usually because....
2. After 100 pages(or 50, whatever is decided) this topic is locked and another is reopened.
3. In the last replies before the cut off page existing Chatters in the thread throw out nominations for the NEXT Chat topic title. A moderator online in the Chat usually decides, makes the thread, and Stickies it. Letting the old one fall into obscurity.
3a. The format is typically "FORUMNAME Chat - _______ Edition"
4. Anything goes within this board's TOS. Unless that's not good enough, and move this thread to the NWO
And yes, I can divide things into 1s
OK... let's get chatting. Lurkers. We know you're there as well. Speak up.

People are outside my dorm room playing music and a drinking game. I'm watching Psych.
Also, quietly cursing YouTube, NOT for the videos cut and spliced content, but for the SONG I used with it. Looks like in one move they singlehandedly want to remove all fan videos, since those always use copyrighted songs

lol, I'm not much of a youtuber.
I'm bored as fuck and am making an unwilling shitty attempt at working more on this essay I have to write and I wholeheartedly do not want to.

I wish I was out drinking, everyone seems to be just hanging out with small groups of friends, my main group is busy, plus i really shouldn't go out this weekend, the essay is late and will take a long time and i need to memorize a bunch of quotes for an essay/exam monday and we bave 4 possible exam topics, they won't say which one so we have to memorize quotes and whatnot for each one, wich will take me hours.

Wow.... that's a TON of qork, and so much about the exams you don't know for sure.
Why memorize quotes though? What use would that be later? You know, unless we're talking The Simpson or Monty Python, then you better get on it!

I've met some VERY hot ones here inside my 2 weeks of college I don't know how impressed they'd be with Shakespeare though.
What do you do? Use them as a pick up line?

I have to memorize them because we have to use quotes as examples on the essay and are not aloud to bring the fucking books in to quote directly...wtf.

Well ok, it's not a pickup line so much as an ice breaker. And it kinda only works if you see a chick reading Shakespeare. Even if she's confused at first or you quote Hamlet and she's like 'uh, I'm reading Macbeth', you've still initiated conversation.

To tie these 2 together, how about well known Shapespeare bquotes to a hot girl?

To be chiche, probably something from "Romeo and Juliet". Some of Polonius' speech from "Hamlet" might work too, especially "this above all, to thine own self be true." (It'd impress me if a girl memorized that.) "A Midsummer Night's Dream' might work too, in the case of Hermia and Lysander. I was in that one in my senior year, and I was Egeus, the ONLY character who isn't happy in the ending. Buzz kill.
To give an example, this:
| Quote: |
But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon
Who is already sick and pale with grief
That thou her maid art far more fair than she.
Be not her maid, since she is envious.
Her vestal livery is but sick and green,
And none but fools do wear it. Cast it off.
It is my lady! O, it is my love!
O, that she knew she were!
She speaks, yet she says nothing.
What of that? Her eye discourses; I will answer it.
I am too bold; 'tis not to me she speaks.
Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven
Having some business, do entreat her eyes
To twinkle in their spheres till they return. (6)
What if her eyes were there, they in her head?
The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars
As daylight doth a lamp; her eyes in heaven
Would through the airy region stream so bright
That birds would sing and think it were not night.
See how she leans her cheek upon her hand!
O, that I were a glove upon that hand,
That I might touch that cheek! |
She'll dig it...I think.

They're girls at school, so it'll have to wait til Monday
And the music thing, at least in terms of females, is slow going right now...but it's comin' along.

This girl I simply was right place, right time. Got to a class early, hot brunette shows up, strikes up conversation. I've been looking forward to my Monday class at 10:10 ever since She even lives two buildings down from me on campus(working on that).
Working on getting past that irritating small talk phase.
I need to learn an instrument... I'm a theater major, so that's a plus right?

It could be a plus, yes. But yeah, learn guitar or drums.

It all depends. If you want to learn an instrument fast, do the drums. Unless you're going for the sweet, intellectual type of girl. Then learn guitar, but focus all your time on learning Queensryche's 'Silent Lucidity'.
Trust me.
