Or if you can't narrow it down to just 5 then do 10.

All games on my list are games I played....
1. MGS4 (convoluted and bloated, with horribly long cutscenes, but a fitting end to a long ass series)
2. Left 4 Dead
3. Braid
4. Mirror's Edge
5. Mega Man 9

I SOOOO need to get Persona 4.
Anyway, here's my top 10, cross-posted from HG101 (my other forum) in no particular order:
Fallout 3
Bleach: Dark Souls
Bangai-O Spirits
Bionic Commando: Rearmed
Castlevania: OoE
Grand Theft Auto 4
Mother 3
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Space Invaders Extreme
Final Fantasy IV (DS)
Never played many big console stuff this year, due to only having my DS and computer for gaming.

Working my way through persona 3 fes. Great combat and leveling systems. Mediocre story, premise, and voice acting so far. Enjoying it though!!!

I haven't been playing games that come out new, so basically by default its:
Persona 4...
And thats it. I'm not going to honor Yakuza 2 for reasons that really deserve their own thread, and thats the extent of my new games. Persona 4 is probably the best RPG out this year though.
(Yeah I thought about it and Fallout 3 was not that good, and the Witcher was close but not quite as good. I'm sticking to my guns: Persona 4>rest)

I think the only games from 2008 I have are Megaman 9 and Brawl. I really didn't buy much this year.

3. Super Smash Bros: Brawl
2. Gears of War 2
1. Fallout 3

World of Goo was the only game I was excited to play that ended up being a great deal of fun through the entire thing.
2008 was a shitty year for games that I like.

Turok was 2007, but I just bought it along with Assassin's Creed two days ago for under 20 bucks each and am thoroughly enjoying them both. I love killing dinosaurs and shanking innocent people then jumping in hay piles to evade guards.

I also didn't play a lot of new games from '08. So here is my list.
1. Saint's Row 2
2. Grand Theft Auto IV
3. Mario Kart Wii
4. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I have Fable II but I haven't started it yet. So from what I hear, it will likely be at the top of my list. I pick Saint's Row 2 over GTA IV. So sue me. I love GTA IV. But its more like GTA III while the SR series is actually more like a sequel to San Andreas than GTA IV is. I could list a handful of reasons why I like SR2 better, but I'll spare you all the details.
