It's no lie. Gran Turino seems kind of lame at first and the racial slurs seem like they'd get old, but they actually help to provide comic relief in a strange way in some of the more intense parts of the movie. It's probably the best thing out right now....until Paul Blart: Mall Cop comes out later this month; now that's a guaranteed Oscar contender there.
