You know what pisses me off to no extent? When I go to read someones post, or I make one of my own and then I have to read someones reply saying they already made this 2 years ago or some shit like that. Look, I understand you feel you are being copyright infringed and all but I wasnt here 2 years ago, or even six months ago! So let us bring the topic back up! I have neither the time, nor the inclination to search through 6 month old posts to see if someone has written about the Super Mario Brothers Super Show or not. I'd rather you leave a comment like "Yeah, That show kicked ass!" and be on your way. Either way, I'm sure there are several new people here on here as well that want to talk Captain Lou...never mind I'm sure there is already a post on this.

yeah and also when you do find the topic and post in it people get mad for you reviving a dead thread

I wrote about this a year and 5 days ago. GEEZ! I completely agree. The rule of thumb I use is if it isn't on the first 2 pages its fair game to post a topic. Plus we can always move/merge them if need be. I was joking about making the thread by the way...maybe

Depends. If the topic of the post is old itself, then try to find if an older post was relevant.

For example, if discussing Docinsano's website. He doesn't update often, but when he does, it is nice to use the same thread. He recently did this and it worked out well.

Another example would be if a movie came out a year ago and you just caught it on DVD. Find the fucking thread about the movie when it was released and update it. This is because the conversation in the thread is probably relevant to the post (same movie... just second release).

If the movie is older than that though, just make a new thread.

For the average "news" topic a new thread seems fine.
