And by better music, I don't mean better sound quality. I mean catchier stage themes, more interesting songs, etc.

P.S. I wasn't sure if this poll should go here in Video Games, or in Music, but this seemed to be the better choice.

I like Karen's theme in SF Alpha 3 a lot so I voted for that. I was tempted to vote for the originasl SF though, since I am insane.

This may be considered an attempt to sway the vote, but here's a link where you can download all of the stage themes in Street Fighter 2, as well as music from some other Capcom fighting games.

http://www.chikapu.com/streetfighterlegends/sound.html

Hope you enjoy it!

Also, the "your" in the poll is supposed to be "you're", but I wasn't sure how to change it Confused .

I remember the SFII themes more easily. My favorite probably being Guile's. Though this might have to do with its use in the Jackie Chan film "City Hunter" (http://www.angelfire.com/comics/blueheaven/jackie.mov).

Actually, my favorite song is from Street Fighter II: Championship Edition. It's the one that plays during the intro, where the one guy punches the other dude in the face, and the camera scrolls up to reveal the Street Fighter sign at the top of the building.

Vega's and Balrog's were my favorites from the normal stages.

Alpha 2, Sakura's stage. Put Alpha 2 on your poll options!

Having a blanket vote for the alpha series doesn't make sense, because all the character's themes are gone in Alpha 3, replaced with generic techno.

I gave Alpha a generic vote because all of the other games had radical musical departures from each other, while all of the Alpha game music was of similiar styles. Also, I didn't want a long-ass poll. If you like even one game in the Alpha series, then feel free to vote for the entire series. I don't care.

Technically, I should've separated the poll into Characters and their Theme Music.

I had no idea that Alpha 3 replaced so much music. The only version of that game I've played was on Gameboy Advance. I thought it was just due to hardware limitations.

Plus, I don't know how to change the poll options.

Yeah, alpha 1 and 2 had the "original" alpha music, 2 had more characters so it had a few new ones but it kept the same tunes for the alpha 1 songs. Alpha 3 pretty much turned into all techno, but still had a few good ones. I like Dan's stage Cool

I hated the music in alpha 3. the PSX arranges of the alpha 1 songs were the best, and I still find myself humming them. charlie's music for example.

III didn't really have any music that stood out. it felt all liek background noise.

II had some rockign songs. I love ken's theme.

I love street fighter III. A lot. Even more than II, which has the advantage of fond childhood memories. But II has the better music, and it gets better each iteration.
In contrast, in III every song has three stages of remix, and I think that hurts its ability to stick. Contrast with II, where you can probably recall the first part of every characters theme, and perhaps the whole.

Two, well almost all of the songs are good. Except sagat, M. Bison, and well thats about it. Dhalsim if it doesnt suite your tastes.

Per the alpha series, the one I bought was non functional, so I have no experience with it.

The only notable music in three, well yang and yuns stage, and dudleys. I've a taste for hugo's stage, and if you ever hear it the theme of Q.

Street Fighter II: Balrog's Stage should be the tune of our National Anthem.

Not sure how that would work, though.

Easy, It plays, you charge punch the person next to you, and two women in bikinis take off thier hats to send money flying into the air.

Quite possibly the most american thing ever.

Haha.....

As a bonus, the plane from Guile's stage could fly overhead, spewing colored smoke while "rock you like a hurricane" blares over the loudspeakers.
