I was a huge fan of all these games, but Windows XP, Vista or even DOSBox can't really run them good at all, especially at an acceptable resolution and sound.

But if you want to get your fix, you can head over to buildxp.deathmask.net and they have a step by step guide to getting these great classics working damn near perfect on newer machines.

Not all of us have an old 486 they can boot up, so it's nice to be able to go back and slice people in half as Lo Wang, throw pipe bombs as Duke Nukem, or use the old hair spray cannon as the creepy trench coat guy from Blood.

Have fun guys.

Add "Warcraft 2, Lemmings, Mario Teaches Typing, and Wing Commander" to that list.

Uh, those games work fine with DOSBox. This is a thread about the three games that do not work well with it.

I have no issues running Duke Nuke'em 3D under XP, infact with the high res graphics add on the game looks better than ever! Kinda like the PC equal of Super Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting HD, except with Duke Nuk'em 3D.

That's cool, I use to have the high res pack back in the day.

Anyway, this is about Build games in general, and I have many a fond memory of playing Shadow Warrior back in the day, but on XP its only playable in 320 by 200 resolution, same for Blood, and the sound is awful.

With the help of VDMSound and the aforementioned link, you can have them working flawlessly.

I love when you slice people in half with the sword, Lo Wang says "Ha Ha, split personality" Classic. Also the ninjas who come after you has him yell "Ooo, sonofabitch ninjas!!"

I loved these games as well but I couldn't get them to run for shit on XP. I remember getting Shadow Warrior to eventually run but I could never get it to run with sound on XP.
